We dined at the Italian restaurant at holiday inn melaka for our 10th anniversary and it was a splendid experience. Our host Sabli was the best we've seen. His command of English was good, personality was charming. But what stood out was how lively and passionate he was. This guy deserves a good bonus and a raise. We were here for dinner but he made us put holiday inn for our next trip.

Holiday inn has been my choice hotel whenever I come to melaka since my first stay at the hotel back in 2012. I have come to expect the same standard of hospitality and service every time I come back to the hotel.

I booked a short 2D1N stay at the hotel for a short getaway with my wife. I arrived early by a couple of hours and was glad that the hotel could grant me an early check in which was a bonus.

I was given a room upgrade from one facing the city to one that faces the straits of melaka. The view of the straits gives one the feeling that you are staying at a sea front resort and it provides a relaxing sanctuary in the midst of a busy area that is filled with shopping centres and hotels nearby.

A couple of highlights for me and my wife included a visit to the tea tree spa which gives great massages and it's something we both look forward to when visiting the hotel. Another highlight for us is a visit to the sirroco restaurant which offers decent food at a good price.

The holiday inn is situated in a strategic location and i'm glad to say that through the years, it has maintained and improved it's level of hospitality and service. Will definitely be back again.

Room tip: choose a straits facing room if you can

l stayed at the Holiday Inn Melaka for 2 days,Check-in was smooth.Reception is friendly
The room is somewhat dated, and there was a smell, .My room facing city was very noisy .the bed was a bit hard
Cross the road to reach Makhota Parade shopping mall and some local restaurant
Breakfast at the Restaurant was good, with a great variety of choices.

We have stayed numerous times in holiday inn Melaka and noticed that the standard in most areas hv dropped.

- The floor which our room is located in is supposed to be a non smoking one. But the moment we stepped into the room, we can smell the room of cigarettes.

Would suggest that holiday inn Melaka can learnt from holiday inn perth city centre that hotel guest caught smoking in the room will need to do cleaning & will hv to be penalised.

- Breakfast

*there’s no coconut taste in the nasi lemak rice.

*the variety is getting lesser.

- Hv noticed that quite a no. of hotel guests did not dry their legs after swimming. Hence, the floor in the lifts are wet & that may caused other guest to fell.

- the filter of the aircon should be changed on a regular basis & not until guest complain.

- we only noticed about the fridge leaking oil on the last day, as shown on the 4th photo attached as below.

Stayed over the weekend with two small kids. On check in I stood in front of a available receptionist and was ignored for a few minutes, she could have acknowledged me at least even though she was busy. Had booked the executive floor straits view room and was checked into an 18th floor room which was nice but had no tub. This was quite misleading as their website state their exec room has a tub that was why I booked it.

When I called reception the lady told me I would have to place in a request and that they only had 2 rooms with tub on the floor, and since I didn't I have a request I would have to wait for a No Show. After all that I was moved to a room on the 6th floor with a tub. Size was the same but room lacked the amenities that was available in the exec room. Rooms also has thin walls i think, all noises in the corridor can be heard very clearly.

Lifts are very slow and has no sensor on the doors so it closes on you unless you press the button for 'open doors'.

Executive lounge was impressive though, the service was great, team was so pleasant and helpful. They are really a gem. Kudos to that team.
