Like all YTL hotels, service is top notch. The hotel has an old grandeur feel to it, makes you think that you've somehow turned back time. The bathroom has deep tub that you'll definitely feel the urge to soak in. It's about 10-15min walk from Jonkers Street, which isn't too bad compared to sitting in the traffic. Overall an excellent stay :-)

Booked over Internet for 2 rooms. The portal didnt allow me to state the number of children in our company of 4 adults. Upon arrival, I informed the front office that i needed extra bed in each room as we were travelling with 4 children. The exta beds were in the rooms before we arrived in the rooms. Hotel was very clean and well maintained. Staff were everywhere and extremely pleasant and trained. Felt very at home and welcome. Rooms were spacious with good amenities provided.
Visited the spa. Excellent tempo throughout the visit and the therapy. They made sure we were pampered and indulged.
The pool was extremely tiny. About 10m by 3m so don't expect to do any serious swimming.
Had breakfast in the Mansion restaurant. Kids below 12 eat for free. Nice relaxed environment for travelers who prefer small luxury type hotels.

We drove from Singapore, pls upload your Malaysia toll card carefully as they might short change you ... The hotel has a lovely feel to it, the service is impeccable, very friendly and ready to please, atention to detail is fantastic!, the room is fab! Loved the breakfast in the morning, they remember you by name .. well done!
OK if you want to have chicken rice stay away from La Famossa chicken rice ..i got food poisoning!!

Speak to the historian Ms. Chin at the hotel for whats nice to do around melacca, The front office exec, i think the name was Gavin, knows a lot about good places...ask him.

Must try the spa ... very good,

P.S Muar the town near melacca is BORING ..do not go!

Enjoy!

Everything here is done well; this is obviously an extremely well managed hotel. Public areas are cool retreats and rooms are spacious and luxurious with plenty of generous & thoughtful touches.
Service is excellent & friendly.
Breakfast is very good. The gym is also excellent.
The only negative is that the hotel is about a 15 min walk or short cab ride from the tourist sites.

Staying at this hotel was a wonderful experience. The main hotel is an old colonial building with charming sitting rooms and a front bar. It was very well restored and exudes a tremendous amount of old world charm. The hotel rooms are new, so you do get a mix of modern comforts as well. The room was extremely comfortable -- I loved the open concept (bathroom separated by sliding doors), the bed and the decor. The staff was incredibly friendly -- providing recommendations for local food and paranakan restaurants -- and the breakfast was excellent. The location didn't bother me at all -- it's not like Malacca is a bustling metropolis. I look forward to staying at this hotel -- it's one of my favorites.
