Check in was easy and quick, the staff guide us to the carpark, welcome juice was served and we were shown to out room. An interesting building, the hotel is located in a very old building, was told it is more then 200 years old building. The hotel and room is tastefully decorated. a lot of greenery around the courtyard of the hotel. The room is spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff are friendly and helpful. Overall we enjoyed out stay and will return again.

Very good location on former Dutch Heeren street. Nice reception. Authentic flair. Pleasant staff. Spacious, clean and comfortable room with good facilities and a beautiful bed. Good wifi. Breakfast was OK, but across the street.

Excellent hotel with super friendly staff, we got a good deal and its very good value for money. Good location surrounded with historical landmarks. Melaka is not a very big city, its a charming historical town, you can reach all the famous historical landmarks by foot. Very comfortable room. Great experience at this hotel.

Decided to visit Melaka for a short getaway from KL. Everything was smooth from check in till we check out. The staff are attentive and friendly. The deluxe room that we booked is spacious and clean. Location is even great and convenient!

This hotel provides external windows only for executive or suite type rooms, not superior rooms. If you book a superior room you will get the following: an internal window into a courtyard, no safe, limited place to store / hang belongings, have to turn on switch on wall outside bathroom to get hot water (hotel staff should have informed us of this on arrival but did not, leading to two mornings of cold showers and only being told about it when we were leaving). Rooms slightly shabby, peeling paint, mould and mould on ceiling in bathroom. Room on ground floor (G2) we had also very noisy with people going past in corridor outside and people on the floor above. For one or two nights probably OK but we had booked to stay for longer and so it wasn't a relaxing place to retire to after the heat and humidity sightseeing in Melaka. We realised after two nights this hotel was a mistake for us and so we relocated elsewhere. To give the hotel credit they did reimburse us for the nights we were no longer going to stay and so we have tried to be balanced in the review. Plus points include very central location, exceptionally nice and friendly staff at breakfast, which offered a decent range of basic items including an egg station for freshly cooked eggs. The reception area is also very nice and tranquil. So if you can get a room on a high floor and pay for the external window option, it could be good. Pointing this out to help others who like the look of this hotel and want to book so you don't make the same mistake we did in booking only a 'superior' room.
