This is a very good guesthouse, where we had many usefull advices from the friendly family!
The rooms are clean and make you feel like home.
It is not far away from little India and Chinatown.
90% of french people... ;)

The room is simple yet clean and comfortable. We booked their room with attached bathroom. The room is clean, they have shower with heater, aircondition to combat Malacca's hot weather, comfortable bed to sleep in, plus wi-fi access and it's all we need. The room comes with basic breakfast of bread, jams or peanut butter, some fruits and tea or coffee. It's really value for money.

The couple who owns this place is very accommodating. Their kids are so cute and adorable especially their daughter, Sarah. The check out time is at 11am, but our bus will not be leaving until 4pm so we were originally planning to just head to the mall to kill time. The wife offered to keep our bags for awhile should we decide to do some more sight seeing or to stay in our room and rest up a bit. We decided to rest up a bit before heading to Hotel Equatorial where our bus will be picking us up. The map they provided showed a short cut to Equatorial which we tried. It passes through the residential areas, so quite interesting to see how the real people in Malacca live...

In terms of location, it's about 10-15 mins walk to Dutch Square and Jonker Street but still very accessible. There are some interesting places to eat close to the area like the Capitol Satay. There's also a hawker across the street from this guesthouse.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay with Oldtown Guesthouse. Thank you for making our 1st Malacca trip a memorable one.

I went there for three days two nights and I simply enjoyed my stay. My traveling partner and I were having our first trip ever and we were quite helpless in many ways... But the hosts of the hotel helped us a lot... We are really grateful! It was very clean and cozy... Feel totally at home... And I like their children, especially the cute little son :)

Room Tip: Please choose an a/c room if you don't want to end up waking up with sweat all over your body.

You feel a part of the family. If you're feeling a bit travel frazzled, this is a clean airy, calm and comfortable place to stay. If you want 5 star accommodation this is not the place , but you don't see the real Malaysia doing the expensive hotel thing. I would recommend for our teenage children.

Have stayed here twice in last couple of years, and will be back next month.
Not much to say other than, it's all good.
And I miss my breakfast at 'Tiga Ros' (three Rose) cafe.
A good place to relax and save some money.
