“Fantastic views but fairly long drive from palolem”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 May 2012

Cabo de Rama is about 25-30 kms from palolem. The road is very scenic and road condition is absolutely great! so you will enjoy the ride. the fort itself is in a small village and there is only one bar outside for refreshments. fort is not maintained well but offers some breath-taking views of the ocean. Plus it is close to Rajbaug beach which is quite scenic and quiet.

A must for view-fanatics! Other than that not much to to there.

“View from the fort is fantastic”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 March 2012

The fort isn't a fort or there isn't anything great in the place except the view of the ocean and the beach from the fort is simply amazing.

The more adventurous travelers can go right down from the side of the fort walls and to the rocky beach and have some good pictures.

I visited the fort and the beach with 2 friends from Chicago and enjoyed the beach more than the Fort. Don't dar to venture out if you don't have a vehicle.

“A ruined fort spinning romance”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 February 2012

If there is a saying 'the journey is better than the destination' then Cabo de Rama fits the bill.We took the Assolna ferry from Covelossim to the other side of Betul and through the villages were on our way to the Portuguese fort. The road ofcourse is excellent but more than it was the view around. The golden grass against a rocky terrain was simply majestic. With turns and curves you suddenly find the sea and then the road for sometime runs besides it. We missed a few cuts and had to take detours but the villagers were helpful and guided us to the fort. The first impression of the fort was very shabby. As we entered we found it in total ruins with some part covered by hedges and rest barren rocky land. The only thing interesting is the view of the sea from the forts walls. We dnt explore the fort much except for a white Church right at the entrance we found nothing else in the fort worth mentioning. But surely if you are in south Goa do head for Cabo de Rama. If not for the fort but for the road and view. Simply refreshing!

“A very very quiet and lonely place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 January 2012

It was a very quite place, and the edge of the fort you can sit for hours and watch the calm ocean. I would like to visit that place in rains. At that time it should be furious.
