We stayed here for 5 nights. It is down the Northern end of the beach and so not as crowded or noisy as places down the other end.

The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful.

The room was basic but a good size. Defintely value for money.

The food at the restaurant was delicious.

We would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a relaxing break on the beach!

Room Tip: Ask to have a look at a few rooms before choosing which one you get.

Fernandes is located at the quiet north end of Palolem beach, during weekends and holidays the beach at Palolem can get pretty crowded, the north side however never gets that bad. The beach in Palolem is not the isolated, guests only kind. It's the main street of the village. Everything is on the beach in Palolem, places to stay, places to eat, places to hang out, it's simply life on the beach. The actual main street of Palolem is a 200m stretch of road leading down to the beach, this is where you'll do your shopping, everyday stuff and the usual souvenirs, taxi, scooters, bikes, internet places, barbers and a few places to eat. Just behind all this lays the quiet fishing village of Palolem, where life goes on as usual.

As the name implies, the cottages at Fernandes are wooden ones, and well built. Remember that this is not a resort as such, it's huts on the beach. If you compare with other places on the beach however, these are very good huts, but still basic. All huts, there's 17, have attached bathroom and terrace with a sea view. Personally i prefer one of the huts in the back. The beach is right on your doorstep all the time, when you step down from your terrace, you are in the sand. You'll be 15m from the restaurant and after that you're on the beach. The restaurant serve some of the best food on the beach. Sun beds for guests. The staff is all you could ask, and more.

Me and my wife have been staying here many times and we will keep coming back. Our very best recommendation for Fernandes wooden cottages.
