If you want a no-frills, comfortable, friendly place to stay in N. Goa- this is the one.Linen & towels changed every day. Superb food and great hospitality. Dev & Dave bend over backwards to make it a thoroughly enjoyable holiday no wonder they have guests returning year on year for extended stays. Small pool with limited shade is the only drawback for poolside lovers but the beach with shacks and brollies only 10 mins. away! Small but adequate fridge in each room. Ours had A/C plus fan

Room Tip: Three floors in L shape, small balcony overlooking street with outdoor corridor overlooking the pool...

Stayed at Castle House for 5 days with my wife. Since i was reaching Goa by train i had asked the Hotel to send someone to Madgoan station to pick me up. I was surprised to see the manager of the Hotel, David pick me up . My train was 2 hrs late , poor guy didnt grumble or say a word. We reached the hotel in an hour 15 mins. The location of the Hotel is 5 mins away from Hotel Neelam Grand in Calungute, right behind Calungute Towers. The Hotel is in a lane, tucked away from the maddening noise of North Goa. Thank god!

The rooms are of decent size with mine having a balcony. Rooms are cleaned everyday and the linen is replaced, so no worries about that They have a nice pool that overlooks most of the rooms in the middle of the Hotel.Sun-beds all around the pool with the bar in one corner and a pool table. Both of them are open through the day They have a limited breakfast menu, on which they do quite a good job. The chef does know his way around a scrambled egg! Didnt have lunch or dinner in the Hotel since we were out most of the day, so i cant give you a review on that!
What really impressed me, was that I was really liked the service they provided to their customers. The manager David is more than helpful and goes out of his way to accommodate customers requests. Anything you require, whether it's bike booking, car or just what to see in Goa or where to eat David is the man to see. They also have a well stocked library, so u can just can grab one of the books and lounge around in the pool all day.

In the end i would say it is value for money. I ended up paying just Rs 1500 per night on double occupancy which i thought was a steal. The location is spot on, the infrastructure is good for a budget hotel and the service was exceptional

Would come back here for sure. Thanks David for the hospitality, looking forward to coming back in a couple of months!

people say you only get what you pay for but i believe you pay for what is discribed and for the money you get far more than what is discribed first time in goa cultural change is it my god but dev and david put us at ease arranging trips taxis making sure we were not ripped off and a had a good time yes the room colour scheme leaves much to be desired but i remember indians homes in uk in the 60s they like it bright cleaned and fresh linen and towels every day there was a problem with the pool they work all night to empty it mostly by hand builders came and repaired the tiles and grotting and it was fully operational the following afternoon and also a big thankyou to sirene and satia who ran the bar and waiter service excellent you just had to nod and they were there nothing was to much trouble fantastic holday fantastic staff and hotel

Room Tip: we liked the upper floors over look pool one side watch the world go byon the other very quiet

I loved this place – I stayed during the monsoon and there weren’t many western tourists about in Goa. Fortunately I met some guys in a bar who said their hotel had lots of backpackers in, and was lively – travelling on your own, this is exactly what I was looking for! I moved the next day and stayed for a week – Dev the owner was super friendly and I felt like I had a gang of Castle House friends to go explore Old Goa with on mopeds, and to Tito’s for a dance. When my train onwards got cancelled Dev calmed me down (I was frantic I was going to miss my flight and there were no tix for the next train!) and helped me out of a pickle. The pool is ace, the pool table and bar area sociable, breakfast a welcome cure for a feni hangover and the rooms big and clean, with a fridge, tv etc. I would recommend to travellers looking for friendly and affordable accommodation!

Quiet location for calangute.
Nice people who own and run the place.
Budget rooms but you definitely get what you pay for.
Lots of repeat visitors that stay in excess of a month with creates a really nice vibe in the bar/breakfast area.
Would recommend to anybody who understands value for money - if you want the savoy but the taj at £200 a night.
