I loved this place – I stayed during the monsoon and there weren’t many western tourists about in Goa. Fortunately I met some guys in a bar who said their hotel had lots of backpackers in, and was lively – travelling on your own, this is exactly what I was looking for! I moved the next day and stayed for a week – Dev the owner was super friendly and I felt like I had a gang of Castle House friends to go explore Old Goa with on mopeds, and to Tito’s for a dance. When my train onwards got cancelled Dev calmed me down (I was frantic I was going to miss my flight and there were no tix for the next train!) and helped me out of a pickle. The pool is ace, the pool table and bar area sociable, breakfast a welcome cure for a feni hangover and the rooms big and clean, with a fridge, tv etc. I would recommend to travellers looking for friendly and affordable accommodation!
