Its a Must see place if you have Visiting Kolkatta. But Be Very Very Very Carful what you get into. Note that its just a temple where you can walk in straight offer your prayers and fell blessed. We made the mistake of Taking a guide who offered to do all the formalities for Rs 51. and ended up LOSING NOT MORE THAN 2000.
This has got nothing to do with the Godess or a ritual which make you pay so much.
Noe
1) Never hire any person this is absolutely not required.
2) Buy whatever you wish to offer the Godess and offer it to her.
3)Carry as less money as possible, 10rs notes are recomended.
4)The Temple closes at 12 in the after Noon ad opens again at 4 pm, so visit accordingly.

I went to Kali Ghat on this visit also to Kolkata.
The best time to go is in the early morning.
Better keep ONLY FEW Rs.10/ Rupee notes in your shirt pocket.
There will be only a few devotees.
NO NEED TO GIVE MONEY TO ENTER
NO NEED TO FIX A PANDA/POOJARY.
GO STRAIGHT TO THE KALI MATHA,
OFFER YOUR PRAYERS,
GIVE SOME MONEY TO THE PANDA THERE.,
DO NOT YEILD TO HIS WORDS AND GIVE MORE THAN A FEW Rs.10/ notes.
( if you wish you can give more on your own)
Need not give any money to any senior Pandas standing on the way,and
Keep chendur/ thilak on your fore head and ask for money with authority....
Then go to the PALIPEED, where goats are sacrificed even today.
Give to Kali all your AHANKAR ., pray and come out wishing all the world live in peace.

Sacred Place but badly managed.

It is surrounded by beggars & touts. Inside temple its too much of rush. Prob the people who pay only gets to have Darshan... Rest can just pray.

Pujaris also agressive about money collection for Darshan.

Should only be visited if you are really keen on it else simple avoid & have faith on Maa Kali.

Maa Bless All...
