We stayed at ITC Royal bengal for the first time in Dec 2021, and were very very disappointed with the the hotel:
1. The housekeeping standard was absolutely horrible, we received stained towels, there were what looked like spit stains on the toilet doors, they had tucked in sheets in one of the bed that seemed to have red stains all over. I do not expect this to be the level of service at a 5 star hotel
2. We chose to stay at ITC for their apparent care for safety during COVID-19 however, guests at the buffet breakfast at the Grand Market Pavilion restaurant and many of the wedding events guests were not wearing masks and we felt quite unsafe dining here everyday. I even noticed that the guards were letting people into the hotel when the temperature screener outside showed higher temperatures. It was no surprise that most of us tested positive for COVID soon after our stay at this hotel.
3. It was my parent's 31st wedding anniversary during our stay and we had personally ordered a cake for them from the hotel restaurant to arrive at midnight, however nothing arrived until we had to call and speak to multiple clueless staff and navigate a lot of miscommunication.
4. The hotel seems to be only employing interns and trainees, on more than three occasions hotel staff were unable to give us directions to the restaurants and around the facilities
Overall I am absolutely shocked that this was the standard of care we received.
