This place is surrounded by several hills and in between those hills, Jaldhaka river flows. The sound of the flowing water makes an echo in this hill area, which gives a very mesmerizing memory.

This is basically a picnic spot. Lovely a d picturesque. Located at Jaldhaka in the Dooars. As you might have guessed there is a river and a dam.

The Jaldhaka river flows through the small village of Bindu and is almost on the Indo Bhutanese border and the dam is just across this river. This place is a bird watchers paradise and the peaceful atmosphere is bound to leave you spellbound!!

I had been to Bindu 3 times before. Earlier we were allowed to cross the dam and go to other side which is Bhutan. Now without special permission one is not allowed to go over the dam. But still its an excellent spot where the Jaldhaka river is flowing. We can spend time in the river banks. There are small shops across the road and a military check post on the Indian side. The place is surrounded by mountains and those who have problem in mountain journeys can feel easy while travelling to Bindu. Around 4 kms of road is in dilapidated state else other things are awesome particularly the journey with rubber plantations along the road side.

Now it's not allowed to go to the top of the dam. One can take some nice picture on large rocks by the river. Bhutanese wine is available here in road-side shops, but one must bargain.
