Wife and I live very close to this place and most often we just drive down for a quiet evening enjoying Italian Food.
On this particular visit a couple of weeks back we went there to enjoy some pasta and Pizza.
The staff are not the best in business but they do their best in some trying conditions.
This place is just off the Bay of Bengal in South Chennai - but don't let that delude you; Lot of tree cover and plenty of mosquitoes to boot - if you are prudent take your electric fly swatter along - could help unless you like the smell of the Mosquito Clils burning in the corner of each table.
The recent rains in Chennai has weathered the place slightly - only slightly - but is is a place maintained well - Bob Marley, Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams and their country cousins are music to your ears belting out of a make do sound system in the background - I love it
On this particular visit "Carbonara" caught my fancy, I asked if it was good; one of the people who run the place (Caucasian) who took the order said "We make Carbonara just how Carbonara has to be made" - ordered it right away
My expectations were raised
When the Pasta arrived - 'OH' - it was just great; I have researched Carbonara so much now that the taste of their Carbonara is by far the best in Chennai
You have to ask for the dish if you like Bacon in your pasta - the sauce coating the pasta was just too good - just they way research describes is - the pasta was not "El Dante" but that did not matter too much as it was the best in business anyway
Do ask for it when you are there next
