“EXCLLENT”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 March 2012

Had visited this place for dinner.. Wowww... the first sight of it created a WOW effect in me.. The buddha statue in the entrance was enchanting.. and was a welcoming.. The statue was placed in a small man made pond with fishes init.. looked beautiful... the color scheme, interiors, lightings and the entire ambiance was breathtaking, the food was fantastic, and the service was mind blowing.. the crew was fantastic and very impressive. Overall, a very satisfying experience.. I would frequent here.. Its a perfect place for a romantic and quite dinner... However, considering Chennai whether especialy in April - Oct , hope the owners have a backup plan to keep the guest dry and cool because the rooftop (which is the most beautiful place in this restaurant) has a asbestos roof.. (atleast it looked like)..

“This can become a habit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 February 2012

This is an extension of the Crimson Chakra restaurant that is so popular in South Chennai, but distinct from it on the same premises. This was our fourth visit, and the place seems to be getting better each time. While the sign in the front says"Chettinadu Dosais " etc, it is actually a Pan-Asian place, with selections from South East Asia & China. The menu is pretty comprehensive, and you won't go wrong with any of the selections.
We had Thai food mostly, and the Yellow curry& fragrant rice combination was very good. Spring rollls and Tom Khare were good, but not exceptional.
The best of the day was Ice Kachang, my favorite in Singapore & Malaysia. This is the best I have tasted outside of Singapore. And, the waiter managed something nearly impossible- share the dessert among us. It is difficult to share this dish without making a mess, but he helped to carry this off.
The service was quick, polite & non-intrusive. And the place is not as expensive as some of the big-name places in Chennai.
The icing on the cake is the al-fresco dining, with a great view.

My only grouse was that they do not offer some Far Eastern classics I like, like Kha Sway or Vietnamese Pho. Hopefully they will correct this.

“Great menu, awesome location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2012

Went here on a lazy weekend afternoon.
Good view of the adayar bridge, Giant menu with italian, thai and lebanese cuisine. Very efficient and prompt staff. Food is Ok, would have liked the hummus a bit creamier.
It is very costly compared to most restaurants in chennai.
They have both indoor and outdoor seating. outdoors will be a pleasant experience with a grand view of the adayar bridge and a gentle breeze from the river . But ...Adayar is the least polluted river in chennai, but is still not very clean at times .So Choose wisely and only after you get there, Depending on the weather and season you may be safer indoors.

“Great Food and Surprisingly quick service!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 February 2012

When we entered the building housing the restaurant, we were greeted with a stench from an overflowing sewage outside. Now that we decided to spend the evening there we dared to go beyond that point. Once we entered everything was different. We were greeted by a smiling waitress who immediately walked us in to the lift waiting and even selected our floor based on our reservation (we chose the open terrace). The lift directly opened up to the restaurant in the third floor. The ambience was great and there was a small fountain also. The view from the top was awesome, overlooking the adayar bridge and lake. The food was really good and the menu extensive. It had three sections italian, far east and indian. You also get mussels and squid which are commonly not available in Chennai. Every dishe were brought to us in less than 5 minutes!! They also have a selection of pizzas and they are done using traditonal clay ovens. Overall a romantic and great experience and I was glad to spend the evening there!!
