The IDLIS are to die for ! Surprisingly i went to Murugan for the first time in Singapore and when i went to Chennai i knew that i had to go to the original...we went to Murugan after a pleasant walk on the beach.....The idlis are great ! The Rava Dosa is good ! You can avoid the vadas though ( i found them bland). Also my friend kept raving about 'Paniyaram's' however i didnt find them special. Also onion utappa was good !
Everything is served on a banana leaf, with 3-4 types of chutney, and sambhar. Unlimited refills of sambhar :D ! Service is quick and efficient...many people come here so expect to wait for 10-15 min at least to get a table....

South Indian dishes like idly and dhosa are good here, served with traditional sauces and chutneys. A good place attracts a massive crowd, and that is also found at Murugan Idly shops. The Elliots Beach branch is particularly busy, but the food is worth it. Two can fill themselves for $2.50, including bottled water. What is not to like?!
