“A Maze in a hotel”

It took us a while to find out the hotel. On arrival, it took them 15 minutes to get us checked in. The room was good sans the partition. It was good on the whole except that we only had a half liter water bottle provided. Dinner was average. Breakfast had a limited spread but was tasty. on the whole, moderate value for money.

I booked a studio through a website, and when I got there I just showed the receipt. The staff were very welcoming and helpful.
The room was very comfortable with luxury bathroom (with complimentary soap, toothbrush, toothpaste) , a kettle with tea and coffee, a flat-screen TV, cosy beds, a locker ( i didnt use it), aircon.
The hotel is very accessible in Chennai.
I wanted to go to the post office and the cinema and the staff were very helpful in assisting me.
However, the restaurant is very BAD. I had dinner there, and the food is plain and expensive. I, even, had a stomach upset with the apple juice which had an aweful taste. But, they accepted to cancel it from the bill.

Stayed with my family and was totally dissappointed with the front desk staff and the manager. we got charged for the terrible breakfast which was supposed to be be included in the price. Front desk staff were very un-proffessional and very insensitive . They charged us 900 RUPEES for stains in the bedsheets . These were already seen the days out and were looking very dirty , frailed and old. I ordered two bottles of water at 8-50 pm and did not get it even on the next day. When asked what happened , they just looked blank at us. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone . they just made our holidays hell. Pay a little more and go to a better hotel. This hotel is not really a STAR hotel.

The studios were fully booked so I stayed in an Executive room, which was very comfortable and good value in Chennai and European terms (R2533, about £32). A very smart bedroom (normal-sized at this price), luxury bathroom, a kettle with tea & coffee, hundreds of satellite TV channels, fridge (which I switched off overnight as it was noisy) and lots of little freebies and bottles. All very clean too, and very helpful and welcoming service at reception.

I booked over the internet and rang in advance to check the booking and ask for 24 hour checkout. They were able to extend the checkout to 2pm.

The breakfast (included in the room rate) was a tasty southern Indian one, plus toast. So no yogurts or fruits, apart from lime juice.

I chose this hotel because of its well-deserved good reviews and its convenience for the suburban train line for the airport and sightseeing at the Fort. There are also a few trains per day as far as Kanchipuram. If you use the train (a good way to bypass the traffic congestion), be sure to exit on the east side of the station, where there are auto-rickshaws. The route from the west side is much longer. Without luggage, it's easily walkable from the station through quiet suburbs.

Room Tip: It may be worth spending a little more to get an Executive room.

Rooms were very small, but clean. Mothballs were everywhere- in drains, closets and drawers. All rooms had a very strong mothball smell-the clothes placed in the closet still smelled like moth balls 3 weeks later when I arrived home. Non-smoking rooms were right next to smoking rooms-smoke came in the vent and through the walls all night long. Couldn't open the windows very much to air out the room. Complained and were told the neighbors were moving out the next day, and they did. Some staff were fantastic, while others seemed indifferent.
