The South Indian Thali served here has a unique home made flavour. The service staff serve with warmth and care.
You could also take a tIffin home of the thali. This is good to feed a family of 3 to 4.
Particularly love the avial and more kozhumbu ( a dish made with sour yogurt)

I had been to this restaurant few times long back- around 6 years back, But now on New Year day we wanted to celebrate here with special Lunch, with my family of 4 adults and 2 kids.

Since I am visiting this restaurant after a long gap, I noticed lot of changes in ambience and seating, but same Lord Krishna paintings on the wall, detailing Lord Krishna's (mis) adventures in Vrindavan-Gokulam.

We ordered Tomato soup, French onion soup and cheese ball and French fry for starter. Both soups are OK, but Cheese ball looked like Mysore Bonda and I enquired the supervising staff about that, he said it is indeed Cheese ball, we were disappointed, similarly, French fry was thick and bulk, not like regular French fry, probably due to heavy rush on that day, their preparations took a beating.

Then came main courses - Butter Naan, Panner Butter Masala and Chettinad Veg Masala, Mysore Masala Dosai, Rava Masala Dosai and one Maharaja Thali for me. All main course OK, in particular Maharaja Thali is more than enough for me, with roti, subji, one small portion Briyani, dry masala side dish, Chakkara Pongal and regular rice with their signature Vathakuzambu, sambar, rasam, avial, etc. My family enjoyed the main course, but kids very up set with French fry and Cheese balls, bill came to Rs.1723.00, we paid and left the place.

Loved the food, preparation was good and they have maintained their standards (have already been there few times in the past), staff were pleasant, helpful and courteous. I went (with my family and kids loved it) at least twice a day during our one week stay @ the New Woodlands. Already looking forward to my next visit!

By far the best vegetarian in Chennai. Excellent food that suits the palate and health! Sublime environment that suits a family dinner or occasion! Second home for vegetarians in Chennai. Must-go place in Chennai for vegetarians.

If you want to eat a Thali then there can be no better place. The variety and taste is very good. The service is warm and efficient. It could get very crowded though and hence noisy.
Go for the food more than anything else
