We stayed at the retreat on a recommendation of a family friend. The inn is truly like home and the staff are well trained. The owners make you feel welcome and not for a moment do you feel like you are away from home.

The rooms are clean and the food is simple yet amazing. The upkeep and daily maintenance is rigorous.

Our 3 year old twins ran amuck in the garden and dare I say destroyed the plants and Mr. Bisht behaved like a benevolent grandfather.

By the time we left we felt like we were leaving our home in Jaipur....

We really enjoyed our stay at the General's retreat. The rooms are very cosy and nicely decorated. Very friendly people.

This place would have to be in the 60's. The rooms are large as well as the bathrooms, The beds are hard and the poor small air conditioner would be working overtime in this heat of 43%. People where very pleasant , it is in the centre of Jaipur. After our experience in Agra and being very tired we felt this was not the place for us. In all fairness if we where 10 - 20 years younger we would stay, it has a world of its own. We finished at the Ramanda Hotel.

The General's Retreat provides you the creature comforts of a well established hotel, while treating you to the emotional comforts of home in an eco-friendly environment. A large garden and patios further add to a relaxed atmosphere.

Our two night stay in a large, clean, well anointed room that accomodated my family was very comfortable. Breakfast as well as room service was quick, friendly and personal provided by an attentive staff. The owners (who live on site) act as a host family and ensure a enjoyable, positive stay. The availability of wi-fi internet access helped keep my teenage son entertained.

I have already recommended The General's Retreat to my family and friends both in Inda and abroad.

We spent 2 nights at the Generals Retreat; it truly is an oasis in the midst of a very busy city! Rooms are quaint - no frills. Good value; Staff were extremely friendly/accommodating; lovey large property with several patios - great for R&R after a busy day of touring! They also have the best pakoras in all of India!
