“Elegant and charming”
Reviewed 7 May 2012

Stayed here for about 10 days in early February 2012 after the Jaipur Literature Festival, which is held here every January, had come and gone. Had a grand room with large windows, a separate sitting area and enormous marble bathroom. Really had a sense of the erstwhile palace. Wilson, the longtime resident manager, was gracious and accommodating in every respect. Set away from the crazy traffic of Jaipur, the Diggi is a great place to regain one's bearings and rest. Highly recommend.

Room Tip: Ask for one in the original building -- architecturally the most interesting.

Diggi Palace - sprawling grounds, beautiful fresco paintings, warm staff and awesome location. The overall experience of the palace is understated with good, spacious & comfortable rooms and enormous bathrooms. Varius sections offer a myriad of experiences with the central lawns, the haveli and the main hall. The staff is quick to smile with a warm namaste always handy...

Food menu is good with an excellent selection of wines from across the world. The Continental choices could do with a little more effort from the kitchens, but the Indian selection is mouth watering. The breakfast buffet is simple, and the home made cookies are a nice touch.

All in all, a must stay for excellent value, great location and warm hospitality. Will definitely be back and would highly recommend...

Was on a official visit to Jaipur and had a chance to experience the hospitality of "Diggi Palace" . A beautiful ancestral haveli turned hotel in the heart of the city with major attractions like Amer fort, Jantar Mantar and Babu Bazaar in 5 K.M radius. Well done rooms with spacious wash rooms with all modern amenities. Food menu covers all local delicacies and continental options with an elaborate Wine menu to go with.
The staff is warm and always ready to help with a smile.
The property could do with some signage in the premises and also more dustbins to make sure its kept neat and clean throughout.
Would love to visit again ...........

I can hardly put into words the joy of staying in this gem of a hotel - but I'll have a go. We arrived from Agra after a long hot drive to the oasis of calm and serenity that is the Diggi Palace hotel. After a warm welcome and check in we were led to one of the palace suit rooms through a leafy court yard. I think the room was number 208 and it was just beautiful. Well furnished and spacious with a large clean bathroom with plenty of hot water (once we realised we had to switch on the water heater). There was a separate dressing/seating area with windows over looking the gardens. A kettle and tea/coffee etc was provided, although it took a while to find somewhere suitable to plug the kettle in - short cord and half way up the wall plug sockets! There was AC and 2 ceiling fans.
Dinner was served in the gardens and guests were treated to some, I guess, traditional folk singing and dancing, which to be honest went on for a little long as was quite loud but this was a minor point. The menu is extensive and we spent a long time studying it, however when we came to order (and maybe this is because we arrived lateish ) there only appeared to be chicken available and you could have it cooked anyway as long as it was in the tandori oven! It was however very good.

Breakfast was served in the garden, fruit, toast, eggs, tea coffee etc no complaints there.
Was very sorry to leave and wish we could have stayed another day or so. All in all a beautiful place to say would highly recommend.

Wifi was available very cheaply but not sure how high speed it was.

Room Tip: Ask for a palace suite I think we had room 208 and it was just lovely, although you did overlook the...

Basking in the glory of the recently hosted Literary fest at Jaipur, the Diggi Palace is one of those "easy like the Sunday Morning" kinda places. Nice open lawn, spacious rooms and one of those days when no matter what you tried to make for breakfast nothing turns out right feeling!!

Took a long weekend break to Jaipur from Delhi, easy 4 - 4.5 hour drive by road, go at your own pace, despite some construction and expansion along the highway, its still a relatively comfortable drive.

The great thing about Diggi Palace is its location, almost spat in the heart of the city and yet isolated from the hustle, horns and chaos of the Johri Bazar and adjoining streets which are a few minutes drive. If proximity to the market, Hava mahal, City Palace are a key criteria this is a convenient choice.

The rooms are comfortable and spacious, unfortunately I think Diggi Palace's neighbours are a dance/music school and the easy sunday feel and siesta was a little jaded by the loud prolonged rehearsals. Grab the ear plugs or if ur a sound sleeper, you should be just fine. I wont call this a negative but just a feature to be aware of.

The one thing that Diggi Palace really needs to work on is the service - the restaurant staff is all dressed in uniforms that you would typically find security guards to be wearing and in my mind thats no co-incidence the service you get from them is no different either.

They do have local entertainment in the gardens on most evenings - Indian Puppet show and Rajasthani Folk dance, which is nice and the performers are friendly and can teach you a few steps if you're not feeling shy.

Dont expect 5 star luxury stay, the Diggi Palace is one of the Hertiage properties in the City of Jaipur finding its own feet.

And Last but not the least is Mr. Wilson, the Charming manager of Diggi Palace. Dont worry, when something isnt right or you need some local directions, recommendations, or help, get across to the reception or call the front desk and ask for Mr.Wilson. He's there to help. He makes things right.

Tip: Avoid driving to the marketplace unless you have a driver. We struggled to find parking at "Johri Bazaar" and would best suggest, leave your car behind hop onto the "Auto Rickhaw/ Tuk tuk" and there you are for as little as Rs. 30 to the market place or call a radio cab from the hotel. Its a 20 min walk if thats an option you wanna choose.

Around Diggi Palace:-
- Hava Mahal
- Johri Bazar
- City Palace
- Eating (Local Food): "LMB" - Laxmi Misthan Bhandar
- Eating : "Niros": Very Overated, would not recommend.
- Shopping: Rajasthani block print shirts/suits/kurtis: "Gulab Chand."
- Shopping: Home furnishing - "Fabindia", "Ratan Textiles"

Room Tip: Avoid the one that overlooks the kitchen ( these face the music school)
