well maintained and good place to be at. They show you various aspects of the rajasthani tradition and you can click you foto in the traditional attire... good knowledge of the old kings and chronological explaintion of that era... updates you on the current royal family which lives there too... a complete update.

Easy to visit. Liked the sabha inside the palace and the huge lights from the ceiling. Unfortunately photography is not allowed within this room. We asked the puppeteers to conduct a show which they did for 5 minutes and charged us Rs.100/- overall for 6 members. A different experience. However i would not recommend anyone to buy any handicraft within the palace exhibition as it is very expensive compared to the roadside shops.

This complex occupies a huge area of Jaipur's city center and is certainly a prime attraction. Jaipur itself is a walled city, but then within these walls the walled Palace is to be found. This double jeopardy has created the most dysfunctional traffic circulation I have experienced anywhere. But it does offer compensations. Only a sector of the palace buildings are visitable, but they have a great deal to offer, including two impressive museums ---- one devoted to textiles and the other to military equipment. Their exhibits are rich beyond belief, and almost every object is a true work of art. This especially applies to the swords, daggers, pistols and rifles that are covered in gold, silver, and a staggering variety of precious stones. The Peacock courtyard is justly famous, and each of its four walls includes a door of fabulous carvings and colored frescoes in the forms of different peacocks. The center of the main courtyard contains an open-air pavilion decorated with exquisitely carved tracery. It houses 2 silver urns each weighing more than 2,000 Kg and certified by the Guinness Book of Records to be the largest objects ever made from that precious metal. Our tour was rather haphazard and we were left too much to our own curiosity. A more structured tour led by a knowledgeable guide would have been more rewarding and worth the extra expense.

Easy to find bathroom facility too in case you have tummy troubles from the Veg Korma...like I did. I loved it! I especially loved the singing of HARI KRISHNAS!
