“Excellent rustic ambience.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 July 2012

Chauki Dhani is a beautiful resort with traditional & rustic ambience.Rooms are good, although in a vintage style interiors & exteriors. The adjacent Chauki Dhani village is an excellent experience to explore traditional Rajasthani folk & arts.
Overall a good place for a holiday.

Pool is good, food is great & service is average.Overall a laid back holiday ambience.

A completely different experience created for the urbanite. The property is modelled on the lines of a typical Rajasthani village with all the associated settings. Bullock carts, pottery wheels and other typical village implements greet one at different places. While the cottages have the façade of village houses, the insides are well furnished with neat and clean amenities. The ethnic style furniture and paintings give an old world charm to the place. Food is good and really filling. There is an option to go around the adjacent village fair where one can truly experience the Rajasthani village life camel rides, puppet shows, pottery making, head massages, folk dances, palmists etc. The piece de resistance is the pure vegetarian Rajasthani meal – with roti’s made on blue-hot charcoal and pure ghee- lip-smacking and scrumptious. The best part- with all the stuffing- your stomach does not growl with any masala-after effects. This is a great place for an enjoyable family holiday, free from modern gadgetry.

Choki Dhani was a different experience as it's themed on a typical Rajasthani village which I thought was charming. There are traditional dance performances, a little maze (very little in fact), an incompetent palmist (which ended up being a hilarious experience), short camel rides etc. The food that I had on both occasions was traditional Rajasthani food which is really not everyone's cup of tea. I can understand why many foreigners wouldn't take to it...firstly there's a lot of it, secondly it's spicy and thirdly, it's just very different! I enjoyed it all the same. Like most tourist places in Jaipur, it's on the expensive side. I don't know much about the hotel though so I won't comment on that. I think everyone should visit it...it's definitely different!

Chokhi Dhani is a Rajasthani Theme Place & Resort.
Though we didn't stay in Chokhi Dhani Resort, we went there to spend evening.

Must say on entering we felt as if we are in some rajasthani village. They have various activities for the locals as well as tourists. They have Rajasthani Dance, Camel Ride, Camel Cart Ride, Bullock Cart Ride etc.

They have rajasthani thaali system. The food is very yum specially dal baati. They make sure you eat well.

If you are in Jaipur, & not staying in Chokhi Dhani not a problem, but to spend a evening in Chokhi Dhani & being close to rajasthani culture is highly recommeded.
