“A peaceful haven”
Reviewed 18 August 2011

I visit Jaipur regularly for business and have stayed at the Meghniwas on my last two occasions. I find that it is a great place to return to at the end of a busy day to escape from the crowds and noise of the city. The hotel is set back from the road and surrounded by gardens, so the rooms are very quiet. They are also clean and simply furnished. The food in the restaurant, which overlooks the pool, is freshly prepared, tasty and plentiful. The staff are always very pleasant and helpful, and make you feel most welcome. As a solo female traveller in India, the Meghniwas ticks all my boxes - clean, comfortable, safe, quiet, welcoming, good food, friendly staff, and a great location!

We discovered this gem of a hotel over 10 years ago and have been returning for the better part of a month each year. India is a place where a clean hotel with good food and great personality is hard to find. The Meghniwas Hotel, run by Indu and Colonel Fatah Singh, is a delight and an exception to the rule. An evening in the garden around the pool discussing the events of the world or the delights of India is not to be missed. This wonderful couple keep the hotel spotless and the breakfasts and dinner buffets are incredible. In addition, reliable cars, with pleasant English speaking drivers, can be arranged for day or overnight trips at a very reasonable price. I would recommend this hotel, without hesitation, to any traveler to Jaipur.

Upon arrival from Bikaner, we were welcomed by the very friendly family who run this place. Set back from a busy road, this is a very nice, quiet hotel with friendly, helpful service.
The rooms we got were spacious, clean and very comfortable. At first the beds feel a bit hard, however, during the night they were surprisingly comfortable. The clean bathroom has a bathtub with a very good hot water shower.
The restaurant was good as well, though a bit expensive compared to other places, so we only lunched here once. Good food and service though.
The hotel has a nice, big garden with a big swimming pool, which was clean and well-maintained.
In short, it is just a great place, not far from the railway station and the centre of Jaipur.
