Visiting Jai Mahal Palace Hotel was like visiting heaven, if it ever deigns to come down on the earth. Words cannot express the sheer luxury, comfort, and excellent service that the hotel provided from check-in to check-out. However, some extraordinary experiences deserve to be mentioned and some people need special shoutout.
1. Excellent care and service: I was travelling with a senior citizen, particularly in Omnicron times, so naturally we were anxious for her comfort. However, the cleanliness, hygiene, ventilation, and food preparation of the hotel, particularly with respect to Covid protocols, reassured us pretty soon. The service of housekeeping was excellent and timely, so that it felt like we were always in the best of care.
2. Mindboggling beauty of the building and the luxurious ambience with modern comfort: The building was a piece of art in white and golden marble. The art pieces were exquisite. The gardens were verdant with a flock of peacock birds who were tottering at abandon and the tall trees were crowded with parrots. It was like we had travelled into a romantic picture book. However, the most amazing structure that I saw was a chess piece square where big elephants and horses were carved out of stone (it made some very interesting pictures).
3. Sumptious delicacies at the hands of real-life masterchefs: All the chefs and servers were excellent. There were so many items to pick up during breakfast and dinner. Being an excellent cook myself, I have very discerning taste in food. However, each item - whether it was a masala omlette, or puri aloo, or waffles, or fish in lemon butter saurce - were excellently prepared. Chef Mr. Kuldeep personally visited every diner during dining to ask for the feedback. A most humble and smiling masterchef, he very generously recited his recipe of poha to me. I will definitely try it out. I would also like to give a special mention to the chef from CoochBehar, who prepared excellent Spanish omlettes for us. And, also a huge shoutout to the server Aslam for excellent service. The biggest surprise was when the chefs and servers realized that we were going to drive to Jodhpur after checkout was the lunch hamper they provided us, full with muffins and Danish pastries and fruits. It was the most beautiful surprise! And everything was yum!
Finally, a big thank you to all the people of Jai Mahal Palace for making my trip a lifetime memory to cherish. We will visit soon again!
