Stayed for 3 nights at Rambagh Palace Jaipur between January 6, 2021 and January 10, 2021. Stayed here 20 years earlier as well, but the experience this time was really enhanced. Whether it is the courtesy and care from the staff, or the 150+ peacocks on the Palace grounds, it’s an experience like no other. The hotel tour with a guide is definitely worth doing as is the trip in the vintage car around the Palace grounds. Tour guide pointed out the Ming dynasty 400 year old tapestries and the other historic features of the hotel.
COVID times so we ate all our meals at the hotel, served outdoors. Delicious food, accompanied at dinner with a traditional Rajasthani dance and music programme. Food was also being served in the restaurants and eating at Steam and others was an option. Steam is a fun experience of eating in an old train.
The palmist/astrologer is the same one we met 20 years ago, and it’s an interesting experience talking to him.
We stayed in the historic suite overlooking the gardens - beautiful corridors and gorgeous furniture in the room. Felt like royalty staying there, didn’t want to leave. Very worth it!
Many thanks to Raman Sharma in the Front Office and Khyati in the F&B Deptt for making our trip so memorable.
