This is a hidden jewel in Jaipur. There is a website of this museum so you can get details from there. It has not been much publicized perhaps due to limited interest of people in natural history. A person who knows what it takes to collect so many seashells (in term of money, time and effort) it will be amazing that such a collection is located about 1000 miles away from nearest sea shore. I have not seen such collection on any of famous seashore cities in India. The museum houses collection from world over. I am told that this is world's second largest such collection. There are many attractions but I am sure that even a person not having background of biology or molluscs, will be amused to see 300 Kg Giant clam Tridacna which was collected near Andman and Nicobar Islands. Invertebrates do not have bones so they are usually much smaller than vertebrates, yet some of them have acheived considerable size. Tridacna is one of such rare animals. You will be appreciate the museum if you have sense to appreciate natural beauty, diverse designs, colours, combinations that nature creates, human endeavor, passion, hard-work, focused effort, etc.

The lady, who has painstakingly done this is now old but meets special guests. The caretaker Mr. Jairam is very enthusiastic and willing to share his knowledge with visitors.

The museum is ticketed, except for Museum Day in Sept. For adults it is Rs 30 and Rs 50 for camera. I am sure that the owner can earn far more if she rents it out than what she is getting from tickets. Thursday is holiday.

As you go to see something interesting. But this place is quite different as you see sea shells in a deserted area which is a bit strnage. I would say that you can skip this place as there is nothing much to see. You will find some unique sea shells but if you have never seen seashells then only go else dont do and go to some other destinations. We dint like it much and nothing much was there to see here.

This unique museum is worth seeing. Visited the place on 03.01.2015 with family. The Collection of see shells is amazing. The Caretaker is very helpful. We lost the way due to wrong navigation, but managed to get there with correct address. The navigation system on the site is needs to be changed.
