“Quiet and soothing, good for a family outing”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2012

Suryaa Villla is a mansion converted into a hotel. It has all the necessary conveniences and even though it is located in the heart of the city, it is far from the rush and noise. It was very nice waking up to the cry of peacocks and the koel bird. The hotel has a swimming pool, small, but adequate. Service is a little slow as they don't have too much staff, but you have to make a few compromises if you want a home like atmosphere at a reasonable rate. Also, room service has specific timings, so make sure you get to the restaurant before time or order your food early! They don't have a fitness center or spa, for anyone looking for those luxuries, so better get your running gear out, if you are looking to exercise! We had taken our parents along with us, and they loved the place with its quiet beauty!

I am glad that I chose Surya Villas for my stay in Jaipur. The hotel’s pricing is affordable and the hotel services are remarkable. The ambience of Surya Villa is so welcoming for a person who has never visited Jaipur before, the hotel staff was really polite and the rooms were clean and well furnished which gave me warmth of home. I absolutely loved the pool as it is surrounded by a very heritage look with a modern touch. The food was a complete delight as it tingled my taste buds. Additionally, the location of this hotel is certainly beneficial since I was able to reach to various areas such as the malls and the market through that I was able to save a lot of transportation costs and time.
I had a great stay at Surya Villas and I shall recommend if you’re planning to visit Jaipur your stay at Surya Villas is a must!

This hotel had a free pickup from the train station, which was nice. The room is alright. It is basic, but it is comfortable, with a large bed and a chair and table. The bathroom has working hot water. The room was a little bit dusty, and we wished there were complimentary sandals. The staff is polite, though not very friendly in general. The restaurant waiters were friendly though. The food is alright. It is not amazing, but it is not bad.

All in all, the hotel is alright. It is not bad, but it is not great. I think we were spoiled by the hotel we stayed at in Delhi that was in the same price range, and it was much much better (The White Klove). It is possible to stay at a nicer hotel within the same price range. We went and looked at several hotels the next day, because we were unsatisfied with this hotel. We left mainly because we were there during a major power outage. Our room therefore did not have air conditioning, so it was extremely hot. That coupled with the some what unfriendly staff and the dusty rooms sent us seeking for another accommodation.

I would not recommend this hotel to my family and friends. However, if you are considering it because it is cheaper than others, it is ok.

We booked this hotel direct before leaving the UK and got a good rate. The day before we were due to arrive I got an email to say no vacancies. I replied that we'd booked over a week before but just got - no vacancies back! I think they probably found someone who was willing to pay a higher rate. Anyway, this left me in the lurch with 2 children and no hotel booked for the next night. Thankfully the Sunder Palace accommodated us and we had a good stay (although no pool for the children).

We stayed in suryaa villa for 2 nights. They arranged for their rickshaw driver to pick us up from the train station free of charge which was great after a long train journey. It really made it so easy for us. On arrival, the staff were very nice and we stayed in the 'pigeon room'. It was so lovely. The room was really big as was the bathroom and both were really clean. They also had a tv with Sky which was nice.

That day, we spoke to one staff member about what to see in Jaipur and he gave us great advice on where to visit and what not to do (e.g. not to buy from so called 'whole-salers'). We decided to get our laundry done here which was very reasonable. In comparison to other guesthouses where we had our laundry done the service was excellent. It was really quick and they did a great job.

We had breakfast/lunch in the restaurant which was nice but a little overpriced but we found that eating in Jaipur is a little expensive anyway. Overall, I would recommend this hotel. It is really clean and the staff are great.
