“Very impressive interior design”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 October 2009

Located very close to domestic airport, it is a hotel where all rooms face inwards,to a round garden & lagoon covered by a dome. Rooms are roomy and comfortable, bathrooms OK; you can use your private balcony which faces the central area.
Staff was helpull and efficient.
The last day, I was flying back at midnight; I checked out in the morning, left my suitcase; in the evening I was able to come back and was given access to the spa for a quick shower & change.
Good restaurants (I used only 2:world cuisine with a good buffet offering a large choice, and Indian cuisine ) and a breakfast buffet which can satisfy any habit.

It was my wifes birthday and i wanted to take her to a great place ended up at this lousy place. The staf is very rude and the ambeince is depressing. We were asked to wait as the buffet was being laid., so we thought why not just visit the place. We were asked wait near the front desk as the central atrium was not a waitng lounge.
Now thats terrible because they had speciallly placed chairs and tables to feel the atmoshepher but we were asked to get up. Furthore more they didint alow us to take pictures.
I have been to many countries but nowhere i have been asked not to click pictures.
I THINK IF THAT IS THE CASE THEN TRIPDVISOR WILL HAVE TO DOAWAY WITH POSTING OF SNAPS(just kidding).
Anyway after all these episodes we thought it is better to leave this horrible place. We went to Hotel Orchid nearby where last year we had celebrated my wifes birthday. We celebrated at the same place again but we didnt regret our decesion. we enjoyed it throughly.

  • Liked — central atrium
  • Disliked — rude and bad staff and service

My stay at Sahara Star in Mumbai was the most pleasent one. Good staff, Plush rooms, World food and value for money.

Not to mention, its located in the most convenient place. Bang opposite the airport and on the western high way thus making it most convenient in terms of commuting.

what a hotel! So big . Rightly said sahara star city. It has many- many restuarants. So many rooms and crowd is amazing. The largest swimming pool i hv ever seen and Balcony is amazing. You can see whole hotel from ur room balcony . Service is fast and very good . At rs. 8000 a day this hotel is not expensive at all compared to their services and luxury. Its situated just outside the mumbai airport and person can walk from airport to hotel without catching any taxi . The hotel is so beautfiul both at day and night. At night the lightening is amazing and they shout welcome to sahara star with light and fire is also amazing. I will surely stay in this hotel again if i get chance.

This hotel looked amazing...I thought it would be like the Luxor in Vegas but it was quite disappointing.

Although I accept we arrived early, it took some EIGHT hours to check in.

They were good about it and threw in a free breakfast but then when we finally did get our rooms, we were given two twins when one of these should have been a double.

When called to sort this out, I was told someone would call back and that nothing else was available at that time...after three phonecalls I finally had to walk downstairs to reception and surprise that after getting irrate it was sorted immediately!

Funny that!

The rooms are actually lovely although no outdoor lighting, the beds and rooms are great. The bathrooms not so much..pretty much why I have rated the rooms three only. If they had been better this would have been a four.

The staff aren't bad - some were lovely only a lot of them were just terribly ineffectual...I suspect this may be more the way of life there but considering that they charge pretty much British prices for food and items purchased there, I think the service ought to better. Yes, the hotel is also quite pricey.

One more thing...the other reviews about distance of rooms from elevators is absolutely true...also the noise...they had four weddings in three days and it is in the open so you have to bear it. The noise is really loud and can be heard in the rooms...you just want them to shut up! Especially when their "spectacular evening laser show" (not so much with the spectacular but yes loud!)

Oh and they periodically changed our card key for the rooms...they stopped working and so visits to reception are common...to complain.

Then although we occupied the room, one room was marked as checked out so you couldnt ring each other.

But the saving grace...a fantastic restaurant service...food was exceptional and the staff amazing...!

Location was not bad also...

Not a bad hotel but not the best by a mile - go if you get a good deal but take ear plugs and a lot of patience.
