“Convenience and Safety”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 November 2011

I stayed here with my family from 02-November for 04 Nights. The main purpose of travel was shopping in Mumbai. This hotel is located in Bandra, opp. to Globus mall. Street shopping in the evening for ladies is available opp. this hotel and fashion street at Linking Road is just 5 minutes by auto rickshaw. The Malls in Parel as well as at Malad are at a drive of around 30 minutes (presume no traffic on way). There is ample choice of restaurants around this hotel and one should try Lucky. Train station is just 5 minutes from the hotel and domestic airport is around 20 minutes drive. Rooms are average and breakfast is very basic. A famous pub is also located on ground floor for unwinding after a tiring day.

Room Tip: I believe room in Platinum category is good

Stayed here for 3 nightsl We arrived and waited at the airport for 30 minutes for the pickup and then decided to catch a cab. Upon reaching the hotel and informing the reception, he made 2 calls and said the drivers were at the airport since there were other pickups too....We provided our flight details correctly and did our best to find the driver with the hotel signage for 30 minutes,so not sure what went wrong there.

We found the hotel easily as it is located exactly opposite the Globus shopping mall, the room and hotel is very basic (complimentary water is not provided) On the first day itself, we noticed small cockroaches on the walls and bed. Being busy, we returned in the evening to find bigger cockroaches in the room/bathroom. I informed the reception who were aware of the problem but when asked what they could do to help, he said he would send someone to our room, nobody showed up. Thereafter, we took great care to keep our luggage closed so as to not have cockroaches in our luggage, etc. despite the amount of camphor placed in all the wood furnishings in the room.

The mosquito repellent was available but exhausted so we just purchased our own and replaced it.

The day of our departure, we requested the airport dropoff in advance which only arrived one hour later due to a breakdown somewhere. I know it doesen't take so long to get a taxi outside the hotel but since we had the time we waited.

Note: The housekeeping staff are very friendly and helpful. Best about this hotel is the proximity to the shopping area, restaurants and other areas. Would pay more and stay elsewhere.

Room Tip: Please read reviews of any hotel on Tripadvisor before deciding on a hotel.

First impressions of this hotel: not very accessible as you have to go down a side street to locate it, it is behind a chinese resturant, the reception area is tiny, and the receptionist rarely know what they are doing. In india, please book a standard delux room, the basic standard room in this hotel is indeed very basic! The escalator feels like your in a prison as they have the metal cage style doors which you slide open - felt insecure in it, but once you get used it, it grows on you. The room was ok - it was clean, had a TV, satellite and a fridge (if you go for the delux room) the bathroom was alright, clean - but a bit small. I as though the hotel needed refurbishing in a big way to bring to a modern standard.
On the plus side, they have a disco just past reception in the evening where they play up to date bollywood and english tunes, and the hotel also has a room which caters as a pub in the evenings and a breakfast lounge in the mornings - breakfast was nice, not buffet style, but you choose from a menu of either continental or asian food. the staff in the bar/lounge were brilliant, really looked after us.
The hotel is in Bandar so the area is expensive in it self as all the bollywood stars live down the road, but the shoppimg for this area is FAB and cheap, esepcially for sarees and other asian stuff, you walk out of the hotel and on the right there is a shopping mall (think it is call Balbus) and then you have your traditional shops - great prices.
On average, this hotel is ok, not great, but not a dump.

This hotel is nicely located in Bandra where the bandstand is 10 mins away and alot to do in the surrounding also. but for the price they charge you, the hotel is not that great. The rooms are a lil bigger than the standard 2 star hotels you will see in mumbai and they are a bit clean. But having said that i dont think the double price charge is called for.

They have a PUB on the ground floor which acts as a breakfast area in the morning. The breakfast is nothing great and you have to order. Its not a buffet.

In the lobby we saw a big rat. To my surprise the people working at the lobby (2 a.m.) did not care. I think they are used to the rat. Even after I mentioned it to them, they did not care.

In the hotel room I saw cockroaches.

I will not visit this hotel again.
