Excellent service. Good staff.
Location perfect. Food also nice although would recommend more varieties. Mr Jackson on reception very joyful and ready to help with any issues.
Lovely and memorable stay. Keep it up.
No qualms.

I stayed twice in the hotel.
The people of the reception are exceptionally helpful, specially mr. Jackson.

The rooms are big, the shower is great.

There are some details in the room that could be better care of, but nothing that bothers you.

It was reasonably clean.

Room tip: Room 401, but I realized later that they gave me an upgrade without extra cost. Great balcony!

This was our fifth stay at the Ascot and, when in the Colaba district , we would not stay anywhere else.
Depending on the day and or time you are travelling It may be between one and two hours drive away from the airport but the position is excellent. Just several paces from the main street ( Shahid Bhagat Singh Rd often referred to as Colaba Causeway) and within easy access to the Gateway of India. Taj Palace Hotel and the boats to Elephanta Island mot to mention the numerous excellent restaurants in the area. A little further are the Churchgate and Victoria Rail stations and Marine Drive and for those that do not want to walk a metered taxi will cost about 50 rupees or less. We discovered a couple of interesting places not saturated by tourists. The Afghan Church built as a memorial to the Mumbai soldiers who died in the 1842 Afghan War is in the southern end of Colaba and most interesting was the Dhobi Ghats in Cuffe Parade next to the Backbay Bus Depot ( a few minutes walk from the Afghan Church) where we were able to walk round the Ghats ( without a guide). Again, less than a 50 rupees metered taxi ride away.
The hotel itself is very clean and quiet and even the standard rooms are comfortable and spacious with ample storage and a free safe. All the staff are very friendly and helpful and efficient. Mr Adrian Jackson and his colleagues in Reception could not be more accommodating and helpful.
Breakfast was completely adequate for us with fruit juice, fresh fruit, cornflakes, eggs to order , toast. jam and tea or coffee all well presented.
An excellent hotel

I have been to Mumbai several times over the years, and the Ascot in Colaba, south Mumbai, is the place I always return to. Generous, clean and bright rooms, an excellent location (walking distance to most of the attractions in the neighbourhood), and a helpful and caring staff that is always willing to go the extra mile for you.
