“Convenient Location and Nice Rooms”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 March 2012

Hotel Residency Andheri is conveniently located (for airport, various places in Andheri, expo grounds) in a small dead end road right next to the highway. A little detour is required to reach back to the highway (one way streets) which is usually not congested - as per my experience.
The rooms are clean and well maintained. Some of the cupboard doors get stuck and other minor hickups - as you might them find in many Indian hotels where imported furniture is put - are there but generally the rooms are very good.
Breakfast is not fantastic but includes common Indian items, toasted bread, cornflakes and fruits.
Please note: Location is not suitable for tourists who want to explore southern (central) Mumbai but very convenient for the airport.
Overall a very convenient and clean experience.

Room Tip: Rooms tend to be better the higher you go.

The hotel is in a strategic position but way too close to NH8 makes it very noisy. However the Andheri Metro station is being built just outside this hotel.
At first sight the appearance looks great like in a luxury hotel, but soon you find some minor mishaps which can be tolerable up to a certain level: I had torn bedsheets, broken shower tap, no complimentary water in the fridge, detached window blinds. The hotel personnel had fixed most of the things apart the shower tap.
Room service is good and quite fast all around the clock. Breakfast is mediocre and I suffered the availability of sitting place due to very small area given for breakfast.
Airport drop was excellent in a Toyota Innova car included in the price.
In general is not bad and can be considered as good value for the money you pay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not facing the highway NH8 and not facing the Metro station roadworks.

Nice room with a very decent bed and functional. The hotel is still relatively new but the styling is a bit 2000-Futuristic (e.g. an "acquired taste"). AC was working well, put to a lower fan setting it was very quiet.
As said the shower is visible from the room - a privacy foil was put on the window only at chest/head height, ensuring legs and genital areas are exposed to the room (really???); for us a laugh, but not so much if you plan to stay in less intimate situations. The toilet however, at least in our room, was not visible from the bed allowing the privacy sometimes required for foreigners enjoying Indian food and it's digestive results.
Cleanliness of the room was fine, slightly above the price standard. Toilet paper and towels were not in abundance, but I guess you can always ask for more (still: only a half toilet paper roll is saving on the wrong end - it gives off the wrong message).
We ordered room service, the chicken Birnyani was very decent, and the milkshake was good as well. Delivery was quick (within 25 minutes at 19:00). I also ordered a ironing board to the room, which was delivered within 15 minutes, overall the service was better than previous experiences in India.
Breakfast was so-so, the coffee is instant and juices are so sweet you wonder where the fruit is. Still the staff will provide you with everything you ask for in a snap (like a fresh omelette).
The street of the hotel is not as busy as some state, the location is pretty central but unfortunately not many restaurants are in walking distance (still Rickshaws are plentiful). The big tourist attractions are about an hour away. We travelled by train (the train station is a 15 minute walk), but for foreigners taking a cab (not directly at the hotel, go to the street and hail one, they are much cheaper!) is a better option - the train is very crowded, even "first class".
Overall this is very good value for money, but your expectations in line with the price (the price in Mumbai, which is expensive) and you will be happy here.

Good friendly staff, clean airy rooms, good decor, good restaurant.
Nothing was too much forthem.
They helped us with a day tour and we saved thousands of rupees.
20kms from city centre.

Strategic location for commercial hubs but very very noisy neighbourhood, hence prefer a room higher up. The surroundings are nothing good to view, so keep low expectations. Staff is ok, nothing great to talk about otherwise. Basically ok, average!!
