We stayed at the Leela at short notice due to illness and a quick transfer back to the UK. The staff as usual were delightful and very helpful. This hotel is beautiful and standards superb.

However we were given room 123 which is a big Double overlooking the large satellite dish on the flat roof. At 11.15pm the room was filled with the sound of what can only be described as our air con unit going into hyperdrive. It was similar to the sensation of sleeping on board a jumbo jet as you cross the Atlantic. I called out maintenance and he arrived promptly , he examined our air con controls and said they were working properly, which actually they were. On looking in the corridor outside I discovered that there is an air shaft of some sort that travels through the corridor wall. I suspect the hotel switches to some sort of evening auxiliary air cooling system that passes through this room.

Time for ear plugs at this stage. It was a constant loud roar at least which went off at 0615. The price of the room included breakfast which was up to their usual excellent standards. We would stay again, but would avoid room 123 and 223 (above)? We were given a free transfer to the airport.

Room Tip: Avoid room 123

We first stayed here two years ago and the place doesn't appear to have changed a bit. The rooms are still in excellent order, well maintained with quality fixtures and fittings giving it the luxurious touch.

The communal areas are sumptuous with beautiful Indian sculptures and artifacts. Whiling away the afternoon whilst drinking masala chai in the gorgeous lobby lounge, listening to live sitar music was a great way to relax even if though at £5 per cup it's a bit pricey!

The gym and changing areas are still looking like new and are very well stocked. Shame we didn't have time for the spa on this visit.

The staff we encountered were superb. Friendly, chatty, helpful and knowledgeable.

We had a truly amazing meal in Jamavar, washed down by some surprisingly good Indian bubbly.

It was just unfortunate that we were only staying the one night at the end of a 4 week tour of India before returning home. It was a lovely way to say goodbye to India though and we look forward to returning to India...and The Leela of course.

Room Tip: The standard rooms are very goo, just what you expect from a luxury 5 star hotel. The pool view rooms are exactly the same as the standard rooms, you are just paying for a slightly better view.

I just returned from the The Leela Hotel after staying for a week for business. The staff and General Manager went out of their way to be helpful, including help to extent my stay when the hotel was sold out without requiring any of my time. From pick up and drop off at the airport in a new luxury BMW to good food for private dining, they provided quality service. Internet worked without issue. Found better rates that included internet and breakfast at Venere.com If going to Mumbai, should be considered and well worth a look. Also enjoyed watching a large traditional wedding that took place Saturday night.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the pool are nice.

I spent with my small group of 14 friends only 5 hours in this excellent hotel. For my friends it was the 1st time, however I stayed at the LEELA before and spent allways a great time here. So it was also this time!!!!!!

Room Tip: Frankly there are no bad rooms
