“beautiful and powerful place”
Reviewed 21 June 2012

Hi, I usually go to Mahalakshmi Temple. Last week i had gone there for peace an came back angry and all upset. The security persons dont know how to talk to ladies. There managemnt was so poor even when the temple was empty. They started a new system of making all the men go first and then all the ladies. when there are two seperate lines for gents and ladies then why they are not moving them simulatneously. The security made all the ladies stand out saying the temple is crowded and keplt letteing the men go in. Result-- total chaos. He even did not speak properly..ultimately the line of ladies became long on the staircase and the shopkeeper was shouting at the ladies.... All men misbehaving and talking rudely to ladies in Mahalakshmi temple.
People had all come with family so when the men went in first and ladies left out... another chaos... they men kept standing on the exit doorway making the area crowed waiting for the ladies they had come with and making it difficult for ladies to come out of the main temple.
Must say the management was very very poor ona weekday... God kows what they will do when its navarata time. May Maa Mahalakshmi Give some blessings to these men and teach them how to behave in the temple with women.

Even Vaishnodevi is 100 times more organised than you people where the number of devotees are uncountable all round the year.

“A must for all Devi Devotees!!”
Reviewed 18 June 2012

Like everything else in Mumbai, the Mahalakshmi Temple is also crowded, the trick is to visit on weekdays & avoid weekends to beat the rush. The Temple is situated next to a Gorgeous Seashore & on a pretty good elevation. If you are lucky you could view Maa's Aarti, you can feel her power :))

Outside the temple you could eat, shop & sit by the Sea Shore if you wish to!!

This is a must for all Devotees who worship any form of a Devi. After a visit to the temple be rest assured of blissful times ahead!!

Jai Mahalakshmi Mata!! :) :)

“One of my favourite religious places in Mumbai”
Reviewed 16 June 2012

This temple is one of the oldest temple, has a history how it was built, when the construction wall built over here fell twice. One of the Engineer had a dream of Lakshmi statue in the sea, next day on search they found it from the sea and thus the temple was built. This temple has Maha Saraswati, Maha Kali and Maha Lakshmi Goddesses.

This one of my favourite religious places in Mumbai where I try to visit along with Haji Ali and Prabha devi-Siddhivinayak Mandir in Dadar whenever I am in Mumbai,This temple is in the vicinity of another religious place called Haji Ali. You can offer the Goddess the lotus which is sold by vendors. This place is always crowded, one of the side faces the Arabian sea. If you go behind the temple, there is a spot where people try to stick coins to the wall, if you are lucky or blessed by god your coin sticks.

“Lots of Crowd but Beautiful & nice location”
Reviewed 11 June 2012

This is very nice place. Mahalaxmi Temple is located on sea shore.
Temple is really beautiful, but lots of crowd on sat ,sun & Thursday.
Lots of security & crowd makes you move fast, so very little can be seen. But otherwise on other days, this place is really nice & gives you a holy experience. Haji Ali, can be seen from the temple.

“Mahalakshmi Devi in Mumbai”
Reviewed 7 June 2012

Mahalakshmi devi has here significance in hindu mythology and this temple is amongst the oldest in Mumbai, it is attached to arabian see on its back side and hence makes for good view and breeze, temple in itself is similar to many other temples in India, other places to visit nearby would be Haji-ali Mosque and Mahalaxmi Race Course. Beware of touts and tourist traps.
