TripAdvisor - Bing Map lead us to wrong location. After searching for a while, we followed Google Maps to get to the right street and vicinity. In terms of location, this place was really hard to find because of the numbering, also it did not have the usual restaurant store front. It is located on the top floor of a tiny building, and as far as we could see, there were no clear signs and we had to ask around to find the place. But once we were seated, the ambiance was perfect. A couple of waiters came around and served us the starters, and told us exactly what everything was. I wondered why they put so less of each side dish, but we soon found out! Every 30 seconds or so, another part of the meal was served by the untiring waiters. True, it's heavy on ghee (unclarified butter) and sugar, but the food is amazing! The gulab jamun dessert was nice and warm and they filled it with some sweet filling which is beyond words, amazing! There are a variety of dishes, rice, rotis (flatbread)- you can choose between oil and non oil, and many side dishes or subjis. Guaranteed, your stomach will be full, but this restaurant is a Mumbai place worth visiting! Costs Rs 300/person.

If you are looking for home cooked authentic Gujarathi Thali. This is the place. The service is impeccable and food is prepared in bottle water so extremely safe to eat. Though this is out of teh way from the touristic areas of Colaba etc, it is only about 20 drive from Colaba, so really worth the trip. Featured in the Wall Street Journal and The New York Times, this is stop all foodies must make when in Mumbai.

This you must taste. I am a foddie and have visited many a guju food restaurants.

This beats them all - Hands Down!

You eat and will instantly understand why all the top food reviews like Times Food, Tripadvisor etc have given them 5 stars.

The food is not heavy. The taste is subtle. The variety plenty. The authenticity simply perfect.

The service is very homely and the owners come and talk to you.

YOu can also get the "Sunday Tiffin", a packed parcel meal for 4.

Only problem is finding the place, Use GPS.

Guys, if you have not yet had the Gujarathi food here, you have missed a world.

This restaurant can be a bit hard to get to (our taxi driver got lost) but it is definitely worth finding. We had a really fantastic meal and priced at 300 rupees per person it was great value.

You can choose to have spicy or non spicy versions of some thali components. We chose spicy and that was fine, even for our western palates. The service was excellent and they kept us provided with a flow of freshly cooked and piping hot items. We will definitely return!
