First of all we had to find the office to book the tour - which seemed like almost the hardest part. Everyone in the neighbourhood tried to convince us that THEIR place was in fact Reality tours. The office was in the most unlikely place, tucked away in the attic behind a tiny kiosk. But we found it, and we were glad we were that persistant! Out in the slum we were not allowed to take pictures, which was hard, but absolutely understandable. We were spilt into groups of about 8 and taken around to see different aspects of the recycling and clothing industry and the conditions that people work under there. We went through the tiny alleys and saw typical dharavi housing, schools and other stuff. All of this under the guidance of a knowledgable young guy, with great english and lots of patience. Not once when we were there did we feel unsafe or get approached by beggars.
