One of the few sites to see in Mumbai. A real gem.

This place has old budhist caves but poor maintenance may spoil the heritage.

What a lovely afternoon just wandering through the caves and ferreting off to explore others. Some are majorly significant sculptures, but mostly just rectangular boxes. It's great to contemplate how they were used

Overall the caves are really good, though some of the statues are ruined a bit. One thing I liked most about these caves is water cisterns and water harvesting system from such old time. There are about 110 caves with carvings and painting. It is a must visit in Mumbai. The surrounding Sanjay Gandhi National Park provides quite and green landscapes to look at.
