“Great place near Mumbai for a family weekend outing”
Reviewed 23 November 2011

Monoribel, brings old memories to me. So when I visited this place this month after about 25 years, I was surprised to find the place well maintained. Good rooms which have been upgraded may be twice since my last visit. Comfortable and spacious for a family of four also.

The house keeping is efficient, fast and ensure you get clean rooms when you check in. The Sea shore is sandy and you can enjoy the sands and water. Be careful when you decide to swim. It is not recommended to swim here at all times.

If you like fish and Goan food, you have come at the correct place. The quantity is sufficient and food delicious. We enjoyed the fish platter, goan fish curry and coconut cake. You do not get this sweet dish at all places.

Approach to the hotel is best by using the ferry from Manori end. Yes you can drive to the ferry jetty, park the car at the hotels car park (safe, guarded) ride the ferry, take a auto (rickshaw) or horse cart to the hotel. Fun reaching the place. You can also drive to the hotel.

The property is big for outdoor activities and enjoying with family. Near to Mumbai yet seem like you are out of Mumbai. Best sea shore hotel for families to enjoy the weekend.

Room Tip: Choose the rooms facing the sea, they are prices a little higher, but you get the best view

A long cab drive from the center of the town, break into a run to grab the only jetty, a 20 minute ride on the sea, another rick ride and phew you are finally there. The rooms are fairly basic but if you have the right ones (cottages 8 & 9 I think), the ocean and hammocks are all you see. Perfect place to catch a siesta on the hammocks and then trawdle into the ocean...better get back in time because the tide rises fairly quickly after sunset. Food's very good, so's the service and the settings are excellent for a perfect weekend. The only downside is the room booking process - you have to sweat it to crawford market office and make advance payment for confirmed bookings.

Had been there with my family in April 2011. The resort is rite on the beach and is quite spacious. The prices are slightly premium, however the location of the resort makes you feel that it is value for money.
The rooms at the resort are very basic, however they are quite comfortable. The rooms are quite clean so are the bed linens etc. Please do not expect luxury in this place. But at the same time it is a very cozy place.
There is no TV in the room, so that kind of forces you to enjoy the outdoors.... If you still need to watch TV at such a beautiful place.. then there is a TV in the TV room which is close to the restaurant.
The restaurant is beach facing and you can enjoy your lunch while the cool breeze soothes your senses. You can also sip on beer while enjoying your lunch (the only alcohol available is beer).
The resort has direct access to the beach. There are hammocks all around at the resort as well as chairs so you can lounge around or just read a book lying down on the hammock. There other games as well like TT etc.
The food is very good (East Indian style) and the staff is very courteous. The coconut cake and the Kaju tarts are a must try, while you are there.
Overall my stay there was wonderful... not to mention very relaxing.. Would definitely like to go there over and over again. It is one of the best places I have been to.

Room Tip: Room number 4, 4A, 5, 5A are the best as they are beach facing (but prices are on the higher side)

Manoribell is a resort near Malad in Mumbai further to essel world.

The resort tariff is reasonable and has nice and serene ambiance. One can't believe that such a nice, beautiful and quite place exist so near to Mumbai. One can really enjoy the resort when visited along with Large families or large friend circle. Resort has its own private beach near Axa beach. Resorts offer lots of extra curricular activity infrastructure to visitors like Cards, Table Tennis, Cricket Kit, carrom and others. Food is okey ad reasonable.

I have visited Manoribel many times and each time, I come away feeling very relaxed and rejuvenated.

If you are expecting luxury, you will be disappointed however, there is no such place around with these standards of cleanliness. The rooms are very clean - I would opt for the sea-facing rooms - 5, 5A, 4, 4A, 6 and 7. The bathrooms appear to have been recently redecorated and are nice and very clean. They have some garden facing rooms which are just not worth it. You do pay more for the sea-facing rooms but the view is great as you have an unobstructed view of the sea, the hammocks are close by and you have a patio to relax on, with chairs provided.

This is a place where you can sit and do nothing and enjoy it completely. It is a slice of Goa in Mumbai, without having to travel.

The food is great if you like fish. Although my vegetarian friends love the food too. They do not have a great choice of international brands of alcohol, it is mostly Indian brands.

Service is slow, just like in Goa, but honestly, the place itself slows you down, so you may not notice.

This is a great place to go with family and friends.... I know I will go back there many, many times.

Room Tip: 5, 5A, 4, 4A are very nice sea-facing, A/C rooms.
