We chose this hotel for its situation which is indeed very good. The restaurant is also very good and so is the breakfast you can have on the terrace overlooking the city. But as when it comes to the rooms, you have to be very clear when booking : Never take the rooms overlooking the street . Maybe the roof below my window was not an idyllic vision but at least we slept well which was not the case of our friends. The servoce is good and the rooms are clean. Maybe the bathroom I had needed a little refreshing but it was very acceptable. the Wifi did not work but we were given our money back.
We did not see much difference between Deluxe and standard!

They have 3 or 4 categories of rooms and ours was comfortable and spacious on 4th floor. Good bathroom and lots of extras from hairdryers to phone chargers.

Other guests recommended we ask for beds to be made up as a double and they brought in double mattress laid on top of the others so very comfortable.

Good room service though had to return some laundry to be reironed.

Very clean

Didn't use pool - quite a cool breeze on 5th floor and others said water very cold though I'm sure if it had been hotter weather we would have enjoyed it.

Only fault we found was sometimes unhelpful reception staff. Eg we needed advice on finding a clinic nearby , buying long distance bus tickets without going half way across town. Also booked an alarm call for our last morning but they forgot.

Found this place through Lonely Planet; it was a "Top Choice" according to the author. If so, I would hate to see the lesser choices. It felt like a gussied-up hostel with signs abounding about refrigerators and safes in each room (our safe was not working by the way). What kind of serious hotel would need to put these kinds of signs around the lobby?

The rooms are equally hostel-like with twin beds in all rooms and a big, ugly digital clock on the wall. In our room on our second (and thankfully last) night, the power kept going out and coming back, sometjmes very quickly and sometimes it would stay out for a long time. It was as if someone was playing with the main power switch. The next morning at breakfast we found out this wondrrful little "quirk" was happening to all the rooms on the second floor. On top of it all, whilst we were out sightseeing on our only full day in Mysore, the cleaning staff was busy doing...well, something other than cleaning our room. We came back to find the beds unmade and the room still dirty.

The only redeeming quality of this place--and the reason it gets its second star from me--was the restaurant. The Indian breakfast items were all fine, but they do make some pretty good western breakfast items like pancake with fruit (though they don't know what maple syrup is and will charge you for honey) and omeletes.

The breakfast is decent and decently-priced, but the rest of the hotel is not. Maybe I'm just being a closed-minded American about this but I think you can do much better for the price; you must be able to.

P.S. A word of advice regarding the location: it seems to be very close to the palace entrance, but in fact you have to enter at the south gate, which is at best quite a long walk and at worst a short auto ride away. Note, however, that everything in Mysore is at worst a short auto ride away from everything else. We made the mistake of thinking it was in a particularly good location because of its proximity to the palace, but it is not actually as close as you might assume from looking at a map.

Room Tip: Be sure to get a room on any floor other than floor 2, apparently. Better yet, get one somewhere els...

I stayed in Parklane hotel for 2 days and a night. I must say that the hotel is well maintained. The rooms are very clean and neatly maintained.
+ve: What I enjoyed the most in parklane is its swimming pool. The pool is in the 5th floor. It’s not a huge pool but comfortably 4 people can swim in it. The deepest part of pool is 4 feet, so for people like me who dunno to swim can at least move around without the fear of drowning. It was mostly like a private pool. There is a baby pool also.
Food (vegetarian) was ok. I will rate it as 5 on 10. U can check out some other very good hotels around for fine lunch or dinner.
Service is very good. If u order anything to room, they won’t take more than 15 minutes to deliver. From the front desk to the delivery boys all do their jobs very well .I absolutely have no complaints.
Rooms as I have mentioned earlier are very clean, well maintained. Rooms have a safe locker and a mini fridge.
Parklane is located at the heart of Mysore. It might hardly take about 10 minutes to the palace by walk. It’s very convenient to find.

-ve: I can’t think of anything negative about this hotel .I was only a bit disappointed by food. I mean it’s not horrible but it’s not great either.
They have all the amenities in the room .I wonder why they don’t keep soaps in the wash room.

Overall I had an amazing time.Perfect location if u r looking for a break from ur routine lifestyle.

Room Tip: Ask for swimming towels .They give that separately. There r no soaps, so please carry ur own soap...

We stayed for 3 nights in Parklane Mysore. Very good hotel. Our room (standard) had everything we wished for.
We also enjoyed the restaurant with good food and very kindful service.
The location is very convenient, close to the palace and the other sights.
