We planned two days for Shimla, but we saw everything in one day. So in the second day we walked till Annandale. It was a nice walk and worth to see it! The museum is nicely done and the park with little glass house, it's like a botanical garden.
I can just advice to everyone to take the time and walk till Annandale!

Thank Tinezzz

This is one of the most amazing places I have every been. So quiet and beautiful. Its has an army museum there. My son and I love guns so there was so much of them. There are anti-aircraft guns. There is a 1000 pounder artillery gun etc all well kept and at the place is so beautiful and well maintained.
There are machans looking into a beautiful army training ground. You can sit in the machan and enjoy the coffee looking into the mountains and greenery. There was this cool breeze and you could hear the birds chirping and the sound of leaves rubbing against the trees.

There are alot of plants on display and the army museum is also a must see though small.

Must see if you visit shimla

A delightful walk down (and taxi up!). Then welcomed into the Indian Army museum, next to the ex-race course, now golf course. This is where all the parties, gymkhanas etc were held in the days of the British.

Gigantic cedars welcome as one gets into the environ of the winding woods. Nestled in the foot of the hills, the Army Heritage Museum at the Annandale is an unsung jewel. Very different from the chaos, the hustle and the bustle of the Mall- it serves literally as a mind-refresher. Secluded and serene- here the air tastes chilled cocktail, the exquisite vegetation serving as the ingredients.
Open for the general public on all days except Monday, this Museum describes the best of the Indian Army. This museum however, has a unique style of greeting guests with the Anti-aircraft pointing towards the air and a jawan on strict vigilance with his AK-47. Highly maintained, this museum showcases a variety of things. Starting from the motto of the Army inspired by the vedas, the dress code of the different regiments, the mighty arms, the General Order of execution for the great martyr Mangal Pandey to the connection of music with the Army- this Museum has all in store for the tourist.
As per my opinion, this should be a must-visit for every traveller (especially for ones travelling single or in small groups). Not only a mere museum, the greenhouse with the cactus and other arid plants is worth seeing as the myriad collection of those amidst the cool coniferous blend seamlessly, perhaps gelling with the Army's motto of unity. Moreover, the campus boasts of the meeting room sporting a grand old clock- the room where the top ranking officers meet every summer.
Truly, it is bound to make every Indian proud about his nation's jawans who toil around the country to cocoon the citizens from attacks. Besides this there is a 9-hole golf club at the Annandale grounds (though it requires a membership) some part of which also is meant for the parking space of the CM's personal chopper. But frankly speaking, the sprawling lawns, the machans overlooking the green at its best Annandale grounds help the time pass on like a gurgling river even without reminding ourselves.
