It had been over 30 years since I last visited Bengali Market. I expected the taste of the street food to have changed over the years. It was wonderful to find that the taste and quality of the food has stayed true to the original. We had dinner on a Sunday night at Bengali Sweet House in Bengali Market. We ate gol gappas and Alu Tikkis standing on the street side. We moved indoors to a table for the rest of the meal - papri chaat, lassi, and ras malai.
The sweet and hot chutneys were just as remarkable as ever.
I was glad that I had set aside time to visit Bengali Market on this short trip to Delhi in February 2010!
