Owner description: Reality Tours and Travel is a responsible tour operator providing fun and authentic experiences around India. We invest 80% of our profits back into the communities we visit through our NGO Reality Gives. We are especially well known for our educational Dharavi and Sanjay Colony Slum Tours that show visitors the industrial and residential areas of Indian slums. We also offer city, village, multi-day and customized tours. Our tours educate visitors about the issues as well as opportunities in slums and hopes to encourage them to understand underprivileged communities better. We use 80% of the tour profits and 100% of merchandise profits to fund our sister-NGO Reality Gives that runs and supports a variety of programs in Dharavi and Sanjay Colony. Our goal is to provide authentic and though-provoking local experiences through our tours and to use the profits to create change in our communities. Our vision is a world where all tourism promotes cross-cultural understanding and local development. Our NGO, Reality Gives, provides young people in the local community with high quality education and experiences to help them maximize their potential. We do this by focusing on English, Computer and Life Skills classes as well as a series of activities and workshop in expressive art and sport. We run these program out of three community centres around Dharavi and are currently setting up similar projects in Sanjay Colony.

I toured Old Delhi with Pradeep of Reality Tours - who is a great guide for his knowledge, attitude and he went above and beyond in helpfulness. Old Delhi is not somewhere you'd just go to, you need to be prepare for the onslaught, and this is exactly what I was hoping to experience in India. Apart from the intense human side of things, I don't know how we managed to fit in so many living historical points. One minute I was wondering if I'd ever smell again after a stroll down chilli alley, the next I was rolling chappatis in a Sikh mosque 'soup kitchen'. This is highly interactive, interesting, excellent value, it's a no-brainer. Can't recommend Pradeep highly enough. Probably not for the soft or sensitive. It's reality.

We've just come back from the street food tour with Pradeep. What an incredible experience! We were taken to a number of hidden gems in old delhi, from the community kitchens at a Sikh temple to delicious little eateries and street food stalls that we never would've found on our own. Book it!

We cannot speak highly enough of Pradeep and all we saw and learnt from him today. The tour of the Sanjay Colony was conducted in a totally ethical and dignified manner. We visited schools, a doctor's clinic, walked past recycling workers and sewing machinists, saw into homes and left the day with a sense of great respect for the people of the Colony and gratitude at their willingness to allow us into their community. This willingness is due to the trusting relationship developed between the community and Reality Tours. Don't hesitate to do this tour. It is truly enriching.
The day also took us to key Delhi cultural highlights like the Presidential Palace (amazing - and you thought Washington Mall was impressive? Wait til you see this), Humayan's Tomb, Lodi Gardens, Ghandi Museum etc and Pradeep offerred great commentary with a very flexible anc caring manner. Thank you for a wonderful day.

We went on this tour last month, was a very good, eye opening experience. The tour takes a couple of hours which was a good amount of time to learn about how life is in the slums and what is being done to improve people's quality of life. Would definitely recommend.

The tour was a fascinating glimpse of life in a Dehli slum. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, kind, and graceful as she guided us through schools, temples and food stalls. It was a priceless experience. Pradeep, who joined us on the trip, was a phenomenal resource as well. This was one of the coolest things we did in an entire month in India.
