“Platinum Treatment for every guest”
Reviewed 23 March 2012

I have stayed at many worldwide chains and always got a special treatment as a Platinum member of their loyalty program. But I felt the care provided at Shanthi home was very authentic and impartial whether you we were a first time guest or a usual. Starting from the gate keeper to the Manager, they will do everything possible and go beyond their call of duty to make your stay pleasant and memorable one. Rooms are well maintained and always clean. Food at the Boutique restaurant is homely and relaxing with charming waiters. Very conveniently located and makes you feel to always go back.

Room Tip: Each room is uniquely designed and furnished with a flavour. Enjoy the diffrence.

I have stayed at the Shanti Home Hotel five different times. It is a terrific, small, boutique hotel. Their rooms are spotless, the service is impeccable, and the restaurant food is the best I have had in India. Though it is not located in the center of the city, its location has not been a problem for my sightseeing and travel plans. When I go to Delhi, I make it my home away from home.

We stayed at Shanti Home for 2 nights at the start of a trip and returned for another 2 nights before leaving India. We would not have returned if we hadn't loved it and, at the end of the 7 week holiday, it is still a stand out memory.

The location is residential about 30+ minutes drive from city centre. The area is safe to walk around, no-one pesters you and there are small shops to meet basic needs. The metro is only a 10 minute walk away and is safe and fast. We used the Metro to travel all over Delhi.

Over the 4 nights we stayed in 3 different rooms. (After an exceptionally good dinner we asked to "charge the room" and this was understood as "change the room". No questions asked, we were packed up and moved to a larger room within 10 minutes. We were totally charmed by the attention). Each room was quiet, well furnished and the beds were extremely comfortable with good reading lights on both sides. Two of the rooms had a fridge. Bathroom size varied from very adequate to exceptionally large. Good quality toiletries were provided and a hair dryer available on request.

The roof top restaurant is a stand out. Great service and excellent food. Bring an appetite and try the Thali, which is probably one of the best we have had. Breakfast is basically cereals and eggs but the chef will accommodate other requests if possible. The Indian breakfast options are worth asking about as I don't remember if they were on the menu.

But the thing that brings great food and a good night sleep together and makes Shanti Home special are the smiles and the service. From Pooja's initial welcome to the goodbye wave from staff; you feel special. If large impersonal hotels in a city centre are not your thing, we unreservedly recommend Shanti Home.

We spent two nights here, the first en route to Kathmandu, then the night before our return to UK. I only wish it could have been longer. Food at the Lantern Restaurant on the roof is sublime.WiFi access is free. They provide the nicest glycerine soaps in the bathrooms. Rooms are clean, comfortable and well equipped.
On our return visit to Delhi, we had half a day to kill and the hotel manager suggested a trip to the Rajoun Garden shopping centre. (I was very keen to see a Delhi McDonalds - hey, it's another kind of cultural experience!) He even sent a boy with us as far as the metro station to show us how to get tickets and which direction to take, and equipped us with a cell phone in case we got lost.! (We didn't - the most dangerous bit was crossing the road.)
The morning of our departure, we had to leave by 4 am; we had asked for a 3.30 call and the knock on the door produced a smiling face bearing mugs of tea. Several of the staff came out to say goodbye, even at that ungodly hour. This hotel really knows how to treat guests. I can't wait to go back.

After spending two weeks doing volunteer work in remote areas of India I was looking for a really nice place to spend the last night in Delhi before leaving. I rejected many hotels after looking at reviews on Tripadvisor.com and selected Shanti Hotel based on its reviews. This hotel is only a short distance from the metro. The hotel staff was exceptionally helpful and accomodating. The restaurant is on the top of the hotel and very pleasant place to relax. The rooms are all unique and extremely comfortable. We could have stayed at the Hilton or Marriott in Delhi but were glad that we stayed here.
