We stayed in Old Dheli overnight and caught the train to the international airport the next day. A very hand way to get to the airport without driving through the Dheli streets. You have to change at New Delhi central station but it was easy.
Take The subway to Chandi Chouk, the hotel is a rickshaw ride away. about 50 rupees for one. We had 2 rickshaws because of bags. The staff were very helpful and dispite the very poor street entrance the hotel is very clean and comfortable. We had a nice beer on the roof with pleasant views.
Restaurant was adaquate.

Sure, its up an alley , ask the driver to walk you to the door. The room was the best room I had whilst in India, big, clean, comfy bed, great A/C. Hot water is limited hours but you only have to ask and they will switch the heater on, it takes 10 mins and is no problem at all. Breakfast was good and room service meals were fantastic, both taste and value. Free wifi was a bonus and the hotel pick-up, again free was spot on , even though my flight was an hour late landing around midnight. I would stay here again.

This was our first trip to India and we were collected from the airport by a ramshackle car which took us to Old Delhi (bicycle market). It was night and my wife initially refused to get out of the car because the alley to the hotel was dark and looked dangerous. But we perservered. The hotel was an experience. If you go choose the better rooms. I enjoyed staying here and enjoyed the breakfast. The best was the travel agency adjoining the hotel where Rameez tirned out to be absolutely honest and dependable going out of his way to ensure that we had not been ripped off buying some jewellery. His driver Raj took us by car to the Taj and the trip was memorable. When we go back to Delhi we will stay again just for the experience of being in the old city beside the Red Fort.As they say unforgettable India. We were on our way to help train teachers in the Himalyas.

Room Tip: Look for the best room.

Hello.
the hotel is good, quite cheap, clean and in the center of old delhi....
the only thing is that the tour operator they have in the front of the hotel, and that they sugest you to go, for my experience, is not good at all. Is is called ADVENTURE STARTS HERE FIRST....they charged a lot for the service they gave. hey booked hotels very far away in Agra and in Varanasi from the Taj Mahal in Agra and from the Gaths in Varanasi.... and we paied a lot for the tour. it was also low season so hotels were empty. I sugest to go somewhere else forbooking tours, train tickets, car rental and hotels.
tara palace hotel is.good.

Don't be swayed by the unsavory alley entrance- the hotel is actually pretty nice and the staff was great. We had a spacious room with a comfortable bed, a/c, tv, and large bathroom. The free breakfast was good, and they have 24 hour room service as well. We also had free airport pick up with no strings attached.

Because it's down an alleyway, it was quiet at night which was great. It's also really close to the Red Fort, Jama Masjid Mosque, and other sights in Old Delhi. A pretty good deal at $45.
