We did the 7 day private tour with a chef. We are a couple in our mid-30s that travels a lot, and we typically manage our own itineraries. We were hesitant to do so with India. The cuisine was a big draw for us, and the private tour with a chef sounded like the perfect fit, since it included food tours and a cooking class. We wanted to visit Varanasi instead of Jaipur, and customization of the itinerary wasn't an issue.

From the very first email, communication with Rajeev and his team was efficient and clear. We felt confident that we were in good hands when we arrived in Delhi. Manish, our driver for most of the 7 days, greeted us with a smile at the airport at 3am. Over the course of the tour, logistics were 100% under control. Our hotels and flights were pre-booked, and were always of exceptional quality. Our only job was to sit back and appreciate the sights, smells, and culture of India. And there is so much to take in from this amazing country.

There wasn't a single aspect of the tour that we would change, but the highlights for us were the cooking class and food tour in Old Delhi. The cooking class was in an intimate setting with Rajeev, where we could try everything ourselves and ask lots of questions. The food tour in the busy streets of Old Delhi was surreal; it is easily one of our favorite moments from all of our travels. At our request, Rajeev took us to a step well in the heart of Delhi. Wow! Step wells are a must-see. And the rest of our tour in Agra and Varanasi were just as good - the transition to the local guides in those cities was seamless.

It's a big deal to trust a tour company with your entire itinerary for a trip. So many things can go wrong, or the tour can simply not match up with your expectations. We put our trust in the India Food Tour team, and they took every effort to ensure that we were getting an itinerary that fit our interests and desires. This company is professional. They are the real deal. Thank you Rajeev, Manish, and the rest of India Food Tour for a trip through India that far exceeded our expectations!

This is one tour that should not be missed. The guide was knowledgeable and willing to change at a drop of a hat to an all vegetarian experience. The tour not only gives you insight to Indian cuisine but an introduction to the madness of Old Delhi while still feeling safe. The food and history behind the small eating places was fascinating (and we eat a lot of Indian food). The amount of places you visit and the food tried is far too much .. even though we hadn't eaten all day we ended up missing out the last two mains and all the deserts apart from the ice cream. If back in Delhi will have to repeat the experience (just start from the middle).

Hi Ros,

We thankful for writing us a review and for such kind words. We warned you with "one bite rule" in the starting of the tour ;).

We will look forward to see you soon on your next visit to India and explore more food.

From the moment we met Rajeev with his incredibly calm demeanour we felt completely comfortable. We had only been in Delhi for one day and were travelling as a couple with a 5 year old child. The tour itself was amazing, we tried a lot of food that we never would have ventured to try without Rajeev, all of which was amazing and he even managed to find food for our sons more limited palate. We included some shopping, which Rajeev tailored on the day for what we wanted. His knowledge of both food (at a very technical level) and Dehli was second to none. By the end of the day, Raj was more of a friend to us and our son loved him. Would recommend to anyone wanting to experience real Delhi.

Was offered this as an option on a golden triangle trip with intrepid. This was a great way to sample some of Delhi,'s street foods but from safe outlets around the south campus. We sampled some great delicacies from all over India . The swarma and the kulfi were my favourites but also loved the paratha place the guide showed us for lunch in old Delhi
