“Expensive but hassle free”
Reviewed 7 February 2012

This large three-floors store is located near Connaugh Place, somewhere you're probably end up sooner or later when in Delhi. It has a wide range of goods from different areas of India, including furniture, clothing and textiles, jewelry, wood, stone and metal handicraft, toys, carpets, teas, spices... all under one roof. Prices are a bit hefty for India, but it's worth considering shopping there if you (like me) don't fancy bargaining and dealing with touts, street sellers and their insistence.

It is surprisingly well organised, as you shop around, choose what you like and get a receipt at each shop you've visited. You later present these when you're done shopping, pay and pick up your merchandise before you leave the premises.

Great for last-minute gifts and to source something you liked during your trip in india but didn't buy to avoid having to carry around heavy bags.

“A pleasant surprise”
Reviewed 16 January 2012

I was expecting an overpriced bastion of tourist-targeted tschotchkes, and instead I only found that the clothing was priced into absurdity (a Kashmiri-embroidered silk jacket was tagged at over Rs6,000 -- we'd gotten its twin sister in Rajasthan for Rs2,800!).

Full of objects from all around India, stopping upstairs into the children's department is a great way to get small gifts, including Christmas ornaments and toys and items for friends and family of all ages. There is a large silver collection, enamelled metalwork, and selection of carved wood and stone as well. If you need or want to do some shopping, definitely stop in here, if only to browse for ideas and options - some of the prices just cannot be beat.

“Be very careful”
Reviewed 5 December 2011

I purchased 2 carpets from cottage industries.
When I returned to Australia I checked my bank statement and was charged twice for the carpets. I have tried phoning them to sort this out and every time I mention a problem they just hang up. No response to emails.

So be very very very careful if you deal with this company.
