I have stayed everywhere in New Delhi from the Imperial to the YWCA Guesthouse, but the Serene is always my first choice. It has the right location (in Haus Khaz,a short walk or rickshaw ride from the Green Park metro station), price, service, and comfort. The place is spotless. The rooms are comfortable, and decorated with quality prints of Indian contemporary art. There's wifi, and a printer, and satellite TV with a half-dozen English channels. The place is quiet, with a staff that's attentive but out of sight until you need them. I found Serene a year ago after a guest house recommended by Lonely Planet turned out to be full. I'm glad it was.
