“Amazing Asian restaurant ,”
Reviewed 25 June 2011

I was during my long stay in Mumbai a frequent client of Royal China in Bandra. When I was moved to Delhi, I asked about similar restaurant in Delhi, and this one which belongs to the same chain, kept high my expectatives.

The menu is exactly as Mumbai´s one, and please belive me when I say that it is highly recomended place to whomsoever wants to expend a nice time with sophisticated Chinese food. Also please note that in this life, the quality should be paid but my final feeling after analysing price - quality .........is nothing expensive!!!!

“Waiters seem to have qualified from an Udipi restaurant”
Reviewed 2 June 2011

My daughter recommended Royal China to us. Hence we went for a dinner today. The ambiance and the scene outside is excellent. But whatever is the attitude of the waiters. They did not let us eat in peace. Six or seven waiters/manager visited our table more than 40 times. The cognac was served in large goblets (30 ml is hardly visible) and even before we could finish half of it six waiters pounced upon us one after the other (at 10 seconds intervals) to ask us for a refill. Once the whole of staff of the restaurant was finally convinced that we did not want refills they started pouncing again to lift the half consumed (with 15 ml still left which, i do agree, is hardly visible) glasses and we had to request them to leave them there.
It is a completely funny experience because often you find waiters non responsive in some restaurants. here waiters were jostling with each other to "serve".
Same exercise was repeated with our plates - we wanted to eat in peace. As soon as our plates were empty (with bowls still half full) they wanted to lift the plates.
OMG, I had heard that in Udipi restaurants in Mumbai they lift the saucer from your table when you lift your cup to take a sip of tea. The waiters of Royal China seemed to be imported directly from an Udipi.

“The quality of the food rocks !!!”
Reviewed 20 April 2011

I went to royal china with 8-9 friends of mine ...we ordered crispy duck , pork puffs , shredded chicken for starters ..they were out of this world with a chilled Stella by the tap was excellent ...i am a big foodie and most of the Chinese restaurants in Delhi i have been to there is one or the other starter which is not so good but here all starters were excellent ...we waited for about 15 mins to order the main course...the music is quite good and they have an excellent automatic terrace which opens up for smokers :p I am one being on the top floor the weather was quite nice and even the open terraces had Daikin ACs working which truly showed that the management cares about their customers and royal china Delhi have really spent a lot of money to give you the best experience ..the main course was even better I ordered the veg pan fried noodles with black bean chicken , grilled fish ...the food was upto the mark and we even bumped into Sehwag the Indian cricketer who was quietly dining there.... I am now a regular and go there once in a week to enjoy the much awaited restaurant in delhi since yearssss.

“Upmarket Chinese”
Reviewed 11 January 2011

There are Indianized Chinese places which serve food that Chinese would refuse to recognize, there are middle rung authentic Chinese restaurants that do very well in Delhi and then there are places like Royal China that look to scrape the creamy layer. The food quality, service and ambience would rival any of Delhi's Five Star Chinese restaurants.

Our meal started with a conversation with a genial waiter who was pure vegetarian but had the sense of humor to recommend us Prawns in Garlic. Wife tends to stay away from sea food but he won her over and she was later glad to have tried them. The main course of Chicken in Cashews was good too.

Service was attentive at all times. The house special cocktail which our waiter suggested turned up exactly as we wished. Only iffy part was the prices. This is probably the most expensive Chinese one could have in Delhi outside the Five Stars. Meal for 2 with drinks was worth in excess of 100 USD. But the location, top floor of a tall building in the heart of bustling south Delhi, with a view of Lotus Temple, Delhi metro etc, makes the experience memorable.

“Best Chinese Restaurant in town”
Reviewed 11 January 2011

the place to try if you want try the most delicious chinese food in town.
Better to reserve. the restaurant is big but always full. if you're a group you can reserve the private dining room with terrace annexed. it is very intimate. the atmosphere is very chic. suffused with lights, minimal yet chic dark furnitures and good music.
the food is really delicious... the most famous dish here is the crispy duck with pancakes. it is one of the most delicious ever. you can accompany this dish with a wide selection of noodles, veggies, dim sums, fried rice and tofu. to finish, honey noodles and a chocolate mud cake served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream...
one tip: try to avoid to stay in the terrace. mosquitos are really annoying there!
