I stayed in the Clarks Inn hotel in Nehru Place in July this year. Getting a hotel in the capital region at such a vantage location for a little under 3K in an online promotion deal, I was prepared to compromise a bit on the frills. But the Clarks Inn literally sprang a surprise when i got there. You might find it a bit strange that the hotel's reception is on the 1st floor. We had to take the lift upstairs and found the welcome staff ensconced in a glass enclosure that served as the reception lobby. Highly functional was my initial reaction. The restaurant was a little larger than my bedroom at home with a few tables shoved together. A little disappointed I went upstairs to my room where i was in for a pleasant surprise. The bathroom was clean and the room was a lot more spacious than most hotel rooms one would find in Delhi hotels within the city. The room had all the works-mini bar, writing table, a comfortable couch, double bed with decent linen etc etc..The airconditioning was from a split unit which was fine though a little tacky. After seeing the restaurant we decided on ordering in. The food was remarkably good though a little expensive. The combo meal we had for lunch was quite the value for money though. The room package came with a complimentary breakfast which was utilitarian but again quite tasty. No cold cuts or anything of the sort, nothing jazzy. But the limited fare on offer was good enough. We loved the service and the warmth of the staff in the hotel. This will probably be the best takeaway from the place. We checked out after a couple of days promising to return.
