Last visited and rewiewed H.P. hotel almost 6 years to the day with my husband, this visit I was partnered by my elder sister. Here is what I found.
Pros:
1. You can book your room and Airport pickup 3 months in advance. Which we did.
2. You can have everything re-confirmed 6 days before departure to India, which we did.
3.Everything you could possibly need is available close by to this Hotel.
Cons:
1. No taxi Airport pickup. We followed instructions and waited 20 minutes at designated spot, Nothing. We phoned the reception, to be told the driver maybe outside the terminal, we waited 20 minutes, nothing. Then made alterntive transport.
2. Arrived finally at Hotel 02.00h knackered after 16 hours of travelling, no apology for taxi no show, but we was billed for it (got the money back, though). We filled in all the forms and paid agreed price for 2 nights, to be told our room was not available til the next morning 09.00, but the "Gold room" was. What a filthy dump and to top it all, the recptionist checked all drawers and cupboards were securely locked.
3. 09.00 at reception. our booked and paid for room was not available and we were shown a room in the cellar, worse than the so called "Gold room". Upon refusing this room, I told the reeptionist I was more than willing to wait 2 hours to speak to the manager, "Hey Presto", our room was miracously ready to move into.
4. I took another 5 minutes of heated discussion, to get at least a little amount (600 Rps) of refund for the night in the "Gold room". Even then, 1600 Rps was a total ripp off.
Conclusion:
Don`t even consider prebooking this place. The hotel proudly displays a certificate of Excellency in its lobby, I suggest, if you prebook this place, then get yourself a certificate of sanity from your doctor.
P.S. This is my first ever bad review about an hotel and it gives me no great pleasure! But - I didn`t enjoy beeing treated as if I was an idiot and not somebody who has travelled India over numrous occasions in over 25 years.
