This hotel is fabulous! I come to Delhi each year for work and at last there is a hotel that oozes style. The staff really do look after you and genuinely want you to come back, they never had to ask us for our names as they had them committed to memory. It was like coming home.
The hotel has a very small number of rooms (about 60 I think) and I believe half of them are apartments that are hired out on a long term basis. We had a look at these apartments which are very large and luxurious (with a kitchen) but probably too much for a short stay.
We had a suite with a plunge pool on the 8th floor (802) and large sitting room - each evening I had a plunge and spent a happy hour listening to the call to prayers from the nearby mosque - all very restful.
The hotel might be too understated for some and it is the direct opposite of the Leela which is wildly ostentatious. The Aman is very discreet with a small (almost invisible) entrance off the Lodhi Rd.
The bar is quiet but serves up a mean cocktail (the Long Island Iced Tea nearly floored me) and the restaurant is up there with the best.
Wireless internet access was complimentary. A minor point but it really cheeses me off when similar hotels rob you for this - it leaves a very unpleasant taste in your mouth and sums up their cynical approach to customer service.
The hotel has an attractive pool with a poolside grill for snacks and meals - all freshly prepared. We did not try the spa which I gather is very good - not my sort of thing I am afraid.
The only 'complaint' was the coffee which was not too good - but hey, who cares?
I will definitely come back - heaven.
