“You're one of the family at Saubhag”

We stayed with Meera and her family after a night at The Imperial Delhi. The whole family is very welcoming and helpful. My boyfriend was food poisoned. Meera has vegetarian dishes cooked for him. She suggested to avoid meat. She and her husband drove us to their family doctor. She was always helpful and accomodating. The property is not centrally located but Meera will always help arrange a taxi or driver for you.

I stayed with Meera in Feb 2012 with two women friends at the end of a two month trip traveling all over India. Who would think that our stay in Delhi would end up being one of the highlights of our trip? First of all her home is really beautiful. The layout works perfectly, providing privacy to all of the guests. She has people checking in and out at all hours and you do not hear a thing. Our room was gorgeous and spacious. The attention to detail apparent throughout. Each floor has it's own kitchen area and living room area. Very thoughtfully designed. And she herself could not be more accommodating. Ask and ye shall receive should be her motto. And finally the food - OMG. Some of the best on our trip. Really. The neighborhood is a lovely quiet residential area with parks. And yet you are close to everything. With her encouragement and help we rode the metro one day quite far, and it was a piece of cake. And she arranges for sightseeing, taxis, shopping and dining suggestions, you name it. We felt like she was one our best girlfriends when we left. I look forward to staying here again.

Room Tip: I think they are all wonderful.

So.....what do you want to throw at Meera? Neurotic Brit with Lou issues.....no problem, the itineraries produced on request included 'suitable' Lou stops. Infected eye?......no problem, ring a consultant in Mumbai (at 9.45pm!) get the name of 2 sets of drops - day and night - ring the chemist and get it delivered there and then. Upset stomach (notified by email) and then late arrival by plane from Jaipur....special Indian supper awaiting us(at 10.00pm) despite Meera having been up at 4.30 am to see a set of guests off on the train to Agra....and don't forget the loan of one of the house mobiles, trust me that is invaluable and no question of paying for the calls made. Meera we salute you.....
I would add that the name b & b is slightly misleading...guests are on one of 2 floors, each of which has 2 bedrooms with a sitting area and kitchenette, all kept spotlessly clean by the very helpful staff. So nice to be able to make a cup of tea in the mornings and sit in bed with it.....
The only time you ever saw anyone else was at breakfast or in the evenings so a lot of privacy.
Delhi is such a fascinating wonderful city and I am convinced that our enjoyment of it was 100% improved by all the information that Meera gave us.....
Having only scratched the surface we look forward to returning, our 6 nights inbetween other trips was not enough!(though it might have been enough for Meera!)

Room Tip: All great, top floor means 2 flights of stairs, no problems for us but could be for others.

This is one of the best accommodations I have ever had !
Meera took us shopping and made us feel so welcome and as if we had been friends for a long time.
Nice house in a good residential Delhi neighborhood, great room, great food, beer in the fridge, what more can you ask for !? Spent 2 nights in January 2012 and if I ever return to Delhi this is where we will stay. We left very early for a flight but Meera was up to see us off, and so genuine too - amazing !
Her family was there at the time and we spent some time with them in the living room just chatting and watching TV. That is a wonderful experience to spend some time with a family in a country you are visiting.

My family has been traveling on an around the world journey for 7 months, and I can honestly say that the hospitality and service we received from Meera at Saubhag was the best of any place we’ve stayed. The rooms were wonderful with large spaces and comfortable beds, air-conditioning, and ceiling fans. Our kitchen was stocked with quality basics. The showers were large with good water pressure and had nice touches such as full sized soap bars and new large bottles of shampoo and conditioner. The wifi was fast, the AC was great, and it was very quiet. The B&B was spotlessly clean and we felt incredibly safe and secure. With all of the basics seamlessly covered, come the intangibles offered by a charming host. Meera speaks impeccable English, she loves children, and is an engaging and charming hostess. She took the time to teach us how to cook a fabulous chicken curry for dinner, and the made to order breakfasts were incredible.

My only regret was that we spent two mornings and one night here. I can’t comment on the location as we had a driver take us everywhere, but for our family this was a perfect introduction to Delhi. It would be a fabulous base for multiple nights.
