I stayed for three nights. Originally booked through a web site for one day and was assured that if I extended I would have to pay the same reate that I paid in the web site. But at the time of check out they charged more and stated that they never gave such assurances. Be careful when dealing with these people. Rooms are small and ok but the Cigarette and liquor smoke from neghbouring rooms also come into the room. Difficult to sleep at night due to the moise in the corridors and other rooms. They do not provide bed sheets with the balnkets. Don't know if I got a freesh blanket or if the same was used by the previous guest. Breakfast is very exepnsive for the quality and chioice they serve.

Room Tip: Don't take rooms having connecting doors as you can sleep only if they are sleeping.

A decent hotel. From the outside it does not look so good. Inside the rooms are good, service was good. The general manage was very helpful, including the rest of the staff. Coming from South Africa we are used to stayiny in hotels such as the Holiday Inns and Southern Sun Hotels, so we were satisfied. To the management keep up the good work. We only had one little issue at this hotel - we got there on New Years eve and nearly all of the staff were "forcing" us to join the New Years party - our only mission was to get to bed after being awake for about 36 hours. I will recemmend to anyone. We were at this hotel from 31 December 2011 to 03 january 2012. The taxi driver ( Amar ) that was arranged by the hotel was excellent, really had our interest and not what he could get out of the travel. Suresh Singh Umhlanga Rocks Durban South Africe [--]

I stayed here for 4 nights over the new year period and chose Hotel Singh Empire as it seemed to have the best reviews out of all the discount hotels in the Paharganj area of New Delhi. I wasn't going to pay a fortune for a hotel stay and this one seemed reasonably priced. However, having read some dreadful reviews of this hotel about two weeks prior to my stay I was considering cancelling and finding somewhere else. Fortunately, it wasn't all that bad in the end.

As promised in the website they did offer a courtesy pick up atDelhi airport, but the car was really dirty inside though. The hotel is located in an area that could only be described as a war zone, but very conveniently located 5 minutes walk from the railway station, 10 minutes from the Main Bazaar and about 20-25 from the Connaught Place area.
The hotel itself has a rather sterile looking reception area with 2 or 3 staff behind the desk who always seem to be extremely busy. Couldn't figure out why though! The doorman seems to want a tip every time he opens the door from you and the staff will really try hard to sell you tours etc.

The room was fine, reasonably priced and looked pretty much like what is one their website, I reckon it was recently renovated though. Other guests may not have been so lucky.

The following points may be enough to convice others to stay away from this property:

1. The noise at night was terrible with car horns going off etc. so ear plugs absolulely. necessary.
2. Lack of towels and toilet rolls etc. These were not replenished as required and had to continuously ask for these.
3. Shower that took ages to deliver hot water and was the type that floods the whole bathroom in the process.
4. Room seemed to be somewhat damp due to poor bathroom extraction.
5. Mediocre breakfast of potato curry, boiled eggs and chapatis. Never took any evening meals there.
6. Non existent internet, the website metions in room wifi, that never worked for me and two out of the three computers available in the lobby were broken.

Overall, if you want a place to just to sleep for a few days that's reasonably priced, this place will do just that.

first of all, the pictures on their website is totally misleading. i was put in a room that completely looks nothing like whats on the website. the bell boy that showed me my room actually tried to charge me 50 rupees for the toilet paper. the recetionist got this straightened out right away and apologized. i asked to be transferred to another room far from the street and the deaf people next to my room. hotel workers are very loud! and some guests, mostly local INDIANS are very loud! BREAKFAST was ok, nuthin speciall, had some variety on a daily basis which was one of the few good things about this hotel. free coffee was horrible so i had to settle for the one you can purchase for 50rupees. outside street is like world war 2...

the only good thing about the hotel? LOCATION! since its walking distance to the new delhi main railway station, which also has the airport express.. if you are in delhi for a few days...i would recommend this hotel for a place to crash but dont expect to PEACE and QUIET... oh also WIFI was pretty good..but my room 110, barely could get the signal and i had to stay close to my door or step out in the hallway to get better signal.....

Room Tip: definitely higher level and away from the street...
